I can’t help thinking stores could’ve prevented loads of this panic buying by acting earlier

Feel dirty having clicked on that. What a load of shite. Basically inferring it’s god getting his own back but not quite having the courage to say it

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

UglyMackems is back, but this time it’s personal -
Funny how I can remember those details much more clearly than any from much more recent seasons

It was West Ham (away) I think that finally put paid to out outside chance of winning the league. 0-0 draw? Watched it in some bar in town I seem to remember. I think it was our third from last game. If we’d won, then beat Man Utd away (we ended up drawing 1-1 or 0-0 there too I think) we only have needed to beat Forest to win the league.

That was probably his best position by that stage but you’re correct about him doing a decent job there. Rush, on the other hand, was absolutely finished

KK was still manager then I think and we didn’t sign Shearer until the following summer? That was the match when we had about 30 efforts on goal iirc. I was thinking of the run of results we had that included Elliot scoring the winner away to Arsenal in a midfield role and the season ended with us thrashing already relegated Forest at home.

Yep, just propaganda telling people otherwise. And of course you can bet the people who still believe that propaganda about the blitz spirit are behaving contrary to that

I’m in the lakes, coming home today after a couple of nights away. Bar some fell walking, I’ve barely left the holiday home. I couldn’t help thinking that the next time I’m here, half the businesses (at least) probably won’t exist anymore

Aye but you know what breeding grounds for disease they are, so why the delay exactly?

Tell you what like, keeping the schools open totally makes sense

Speed was a deadline signing later in the season anyway wasn’t he? And while he later turned out to be a great signing, Dalglish played him in the left side of midfield (of course he did). The daft thing is at the end of the previous season Dalglish had stumbled upon a system that worked with Tino, Shearer and Sir Les all playing in a 4-3-3. So he scrapped it (of course he did).

I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if production at Washington doesn’t recommence

Westworld is class.

One Night in Turin is worth a watch ( it’s available on Prime at the minute). For those old enough to remember Italia 90 it won’t tell you anything you didn’t already know (although you might have temporarily forgotten what a little cunt Colin Moynihan was / is). But for a bit of bittersweet nostalgia to take edge off the world ending it’s worth an hour and a half of your time. Thought the little reconstructed bits woven into the footage were a bit unnecessary. As was the narrator explaining what a sweeper system was Flawed but interesting

I gathered that like. I’ve never been able to bring myself to watch it

That’s not in the book

Just another example of how out of touch he is. I love the threat that he’ll leave a sport where he has fuck all to offer and he’s just robbing a living because he still can.

I’m sure CT will know of an alternative ingredient that works just as well

They’ve been a nonentity since the Second World War

At least the ones I follow are like that

There’s a load of ‘instagram models’ that are basically fat lasses where 95% of the photos are just their face and cleavage
