I’m not defending Israel here. Netanyahu knows what he’s doing and wants this as much as Iran does - war is all Netanyahu has left because support for him has massively diminished and he’s clinging to power thanks to the conflict. You’re right that Israelis support the war. The rabid nationalists who don’t care about the slaughter of innocent Palestinians you mention don’t speak for everyone of course but there is wide support for the removal of Hamas and return of the hostages, yes. This is where the threat of escalation got real. Not exactly what the world needs alongside the Ukraine conflict.

I didn’t because I knew how awful the Israeli PM is - he won’t stop until Hamas has been removed and the hostages have been released and he doesn’t care how many innocent Palestinians are murdered in the process. I don’t know what the latest polling suggests but everyone I know in Israel wants Netanyahu out. Unfortunately for the people of Gaza, Hamas is in charge and Israel has the worst possible leader for this moment because he won’t stop until the Americans tell him to. Iran have raised the stakes with this move though. What has until now been a proxy war could escalate to a much more worrying conflict with Iran/Russia on one side and Israel/West on the other

It was clear at the start of this thing, when Hamas invaded Israel to slaughter and rape innocent people, that they were backed by Iran, knowing how brutal the Israeli response would be. Iran’s goal was to end the warming relations between Israel and Saudi and further destabilise the region. Until now it’s been through proxies, today they have launched missiles at Israel. I don’t know what happens next but nothing good comes from this.

our front three was the best it’s been all season. I like Gordon on the left but we surely have to start with those three now when everybody is fit. Isak is ice cold in front of goal. He’ll get 20 plus goals in the PL, which is amazing considering all the games he’s missed through injury - 10, I think? What a striker we have man, we have to hold onto him. he hasn’t even been at his best this season because of all the injuries. 100% agreed about Anderson. He was so unfortunate with his injury as he would have had loads of chances this season. I’m interested to see how he gets on in the rest of the season. It was great to see someone pressing aggressively from midfield. We’ve missed that aggression and physicality since Joelinton’s been out

wow, rayvin confessing to being even more miserable than renton - what has become of us? i used to be idealistic and angry at the world but i have made peace with the fact that politics is a game, most politicians are unprincipled and power hungry and our electoral system isn't fit for purpose. it's easier to stay positive once you adopt a cynical worldview and see our democracy for what it is. i used to protest vote, today i will vote for the party that has a chance of winning and which will hopefully make all of our lives a little less shit. i'm just thankful that i live here in the west - and not russia or china or some arab country where what you think or feel has even less value. got to stay positive and try and enjoy the ride while it lasts. all of our lives are meaningless and no one will care about any of the things that keep us awake at night after we're gone.
