  1. 6th fastest PL midfielder???? i must be watching a different player
  2. he hasn't looked rapid to me. seems to like to play the give and go rather than beat his man with pace. totally different to gordon in that sense. though he is probably the best finisher of the wide players
  3. is he slower than Barnes? Genuine question. I would usually agree that the best wingers have pace to burn but Barnes clearly doesn’t so perhaps Howe doesn’t demand it from players as long as they are they type that he can mould to play in his system.
  4. scanning ffs another completely unnecessary new word for something that has always existed in the game. file under low blocks, double pivots, turnovers and transitions.
  5. the whole combined site might have been, if it wasn't owned by three different parties.
  6. A convincing case here for why a new stadium won’t be built on or near the arena site
  7. already planning their next careers if dom cummings is to be believed
  8. i think you'll find it's Tracy Lauren Marrow
  9. he could cover wide right too, no? he seems comfortable with both feet, unlike our current first choice RW. he has a lot of things going for him - his versatility, age and high technical ceiling. i'd be disappointed if FFP forces us let him go before he gets a real chance in the first team. look how miley impressed this season when given the chance. that could have been anderson.
  10. anderson isn't just a midfielder, he can play out wide too. i'd sell miggy or murphy before i let anderson go - you'd get more of a transfer fee and they're both of an age where you know that the level they're at is the highest they're going to get to. anderson has unrealised potential. he may not make it as a top PL player but he needs more minutes before we make that call. i want to how he develops under howe and tindall.
  11. the steven taylor sniper pike - perfectly executed
  12. another reason why selling anderson at this stage is kind of pointless. give him another season or two to impress before we decide to cash in or not. his value will only go up as he gets more minutes in the PL
  13. longstaff? not sure, we're into football manager territory now, but you'd expect at least £20m in this market for an english player with his amount of PL experience wouldn't you?
  14. longstaff isn't impressive on the ball. he always seems to need a touch or two more than our other midfielders. you can't knock the amount of work he gets through - his running off the ball was invaluable to our pressing structure last season and we missed him when he wasn't starting games. he also makes some great forward runs into the box and arguably should have loads more goals if he was a better finisher. but he's at the age where he isn't going to suddenly get loads better at the more technical side of the game. i like him as a squad player. i don't think the plan was for him to be an almost ever-present this season. but if there's one player to shift from the squad to accommodate a new midfield signing, he's the one. i agree that miley looks like he has the potential to be a upgrade on longstaff once he physically matures as he's streets ahead technically already.
  15. i agree regarding longstaff, who is a hard-working but limited player. it's too soon to say that about anderson. i've been impressed with the glimpses we've seen of him so far. i also get the sense he is playing within himself - he has been instructed to keep it simple, to play for the team and retain possession, but technically he looks a level above longstaff. we've only see it in flashes given his limited minutes with the first team but he has ability on the ball to go past a man, which longstaff doesn't, and he looks like he has vision too. i feel really sorry for him with his injury this season as he would have had loads of opportunities to show us what he can do. i'd give him another season or two to see how he develops.
  16. Anderson has a higher technical ceiling and is worth keeping on
  17. He’s a good enough squad player for now and gets through loads of work off the ball when he’s not injured but he’s not technically good enough for where we want to be in the future. I’d be looking to sell if a bid north of £25m came in
