if wilson isn't fit to start, and gordon and isak are out....who da fuck are we playing up top? -
i don't agree with the uturn on this policy. this is one area where we have to borrow to invest - the longer we delay, the more it will end up costing us in the long-term. however, streeting is a superb communicator.

if hope is correct, our bench is still shit. i think we;d all like to see tino start but if he does, we have zero game changers on the bench, other than hall, who eddie refuses to play -

Doesn’t have a plan back to square one stop the boats that’s all we’re going to hear from these cunts this year

fear not, the benefits of Brexit will start kicking in soon.

100% this. Wtaf is the point in being “principled” in opposition if you make your party unelectable? You can only judge a political leader positively if they win power and their policies impact people’s lives. You can’t judge Corbyn as anything other than a total disaster for the Labour Party: betraying working class voters, losing labour heartlands to Johnson, helping facilitate this dogshit version of Brexit we ended up with, alienating Jewish Labour voters etc etc.

"back to square one" seems to be their attack line slogan this time this one is as ridiculous as it is stupid - what is this square one they speak of? do they mean starmer might take us back to how life was under the last labour government, when we didn't moan about politics 24/7 because the country was in the hands of competent people? they should call an election and let him take us there asap
-
it's all they've got left: culture wars and [not] stopping the boats
-
it is frustrating. i wish he'd be bolder on brexit, among other things, but why risk alienating voters? why make yourself a target when the tories are doing such a good job at finishing themselves off? it looks like starmer doesn't stand for anything but he can do stuff by stealth once he gets in. it doesn't mater that he won't have a mandate for anything. remember blair and brown made the bank of england independent straight after they won in 97 - there was no mention of that in their manifesto

5 years of austerity prior to that too
-
it wouldn't have been at all chaotic. we would have avoided the EU referendum which fucked the country, for starters
-
do you remember the blair/brown years? life in the uk then was pretty good. it's extraordinary that the left of the labour party refuse to acknowledge it. we can all agree blair's legacy is forever stained by iraq but he did what all successful politicians do - win power to improve people's lives. find a pragmatic way to make sure you're electable and speak to the floating voters who decide elections. corbyn was absolutely useless at this and he helped inflict misery on the country - an absolutely terrible politician.
