  1. You know you're getting old when you lose touch with popular culture and all new music sounds like noise
  2. the thing about nolan is you kind of have to build your team around him. he's a bit like shearer was in his latter days for us in that his lack of mobility limits his play, bu you can negate what he lacks in the engine department by playing to his strengths. west ham should play with one striker, pack the central midfield behind him or use a deep lying midfielder like tiote who can do a lot of his running. then he'll provide valuable goals, assists and leadership qualities. i reckon he's possibly the best finisher we had since shearer. and he definitwly has the knack of popping up in the right area. i was saying the same things most of those hammers fans are saying now when he first signed for us. they should come around to him eventually. we did.
  3. Put him on ignore gejon, it's the only way. It won't stop him replying to things you post but can't see because you've blocked him, or sending you pms either for that matter.
  4. should have been arrested long ago for crimes against football
  5. he's cut down on the feigning chest injury after committing a hand ball, which is a plus.
  6. Always pay for the extra insurance. I got stung for the best part of a grand after some cnut bumped me then fucked off in a car park
  7. He has been shit so far though hasn't he? Not saying he's going to be perma shit. Maybe he's still feeling the affects of being out so long.
  8. He certainly gives us a different option to what we already have from the bench. Has he even been used in the league this season off the bench yet? I can't remember. Obviously not impressing that much in training if he's slipped behind Guthrie in the pecking order. Only time use seen him was in the carling cup. He was dire.
  9. Bit early isn't it to be writing players off? Hey, i stand by that cabaye quote. He had a stinker against qpr when he sat so deep he was alongside tiote. Glad to see him improving. Not surprisingly, he's looked better since he started playing a bit further up the field and linking up the play more. And if you read all those quotes, i haven't written any of them off. Just making observations based on what we've seen so far. ba seems to have turned a corner since he started eating during daylight hours but I'm not massively convinced by obertan and goslings done nowt for us yet.
  10. Is that him behind shepherd? Here's Leazes!
  11. I like jonas. He does a decent enough job for a side with our ambitions. We're right to retain this sort of player. Whether the contract is worth the paper it was written on remains to be seen. Mancy mate, walk away from the never ending circular argument with lm. It's the only way.
  12. i think he's just a bit shit. don't know if it's just because he's still not match fit or whether the injuries have had a big impact on him. time will tell but he's got a bit to do to be pushing for a first team spot. you'd have to wonder if he's even ahead of guthrie at this stage.
  13. i'd love to think jonas and tiote see out the majority of their improved contracts and don't end up being sold in a carroll type scenario
  14. whoaah, mate that sounds like way to few calories to me for the amount of work you're doing. as bizare as it sounds, you actually need to eat more in order to cut the fat while training heavily. if you under eat, your body will cling on to fat and burn muscle. our bodies aren't designed to look sculpted, they're designed to survive. the human body is a stubborn thing. it will hang on to the fat for as long as possible. i'd up your calorie intake by about 6-700 dependign on how much work you're doing. make sure you eat plenty of protein and carbs post work out. don't be afraid of healthy fats and if you want to drop fat while building muscle, just stay clear of the refined carbs and don't eat any carbs past 4 or 5 in the afternoon other than vegetables. one of the biggest mistakes i made for years was not eating enough. serioulsy, getting the right fuel is so important. it's worth remembering that your body will burn about 1500-1800 calories a day as standard. that's befioe you've done any training. Fuck! I'm all for eating more but getting these extra calories in sounds like hard graft. I don't want to be one of these cunts who walks round with chicken breasts in his pockets. Just nuts and fruit and shit? I don't want to start eating more only to pile the beef back on! Cheers for the advice btw, it's really helpful. I did wonder when I added the running in whether I was gonna be eating too little. I'm the same. Some of the lads in the gym tell me to get the chicken breasts in and up the calories. Don't know if I want to make those sort of changes though. it's really not difficult to eat 2500 calories in a day if you're training. if you're working hard you should be famished after your workout. i find the way to do it is to eat smaller portions, more frequently. i eat typically 3 meals a day and 3 snacks a day. keeps the metabolism up too so you don't overeat in one sitting.

  16. Funny like how shola has waited his whole career to be our first choice striker and even now when he's in his prime and we have the worst bunch of strikers on our books in a generation he finds himself behind the likes of leon best.
  17. wife's out tonight so might watch "weapons of ass destruction" later
  18. Just to get fitter really. I'm only going 4 days a week now, and running 4 days a week outside. So I only do weights Mon, Tues, Thu, Fri and I've started running Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun. Is that too much, you reckon? nah, not as long as you mix up the workouts and make sure you're eating right, getting plenty of calories, lots of protein in your diet and a good nights sleep so your muscles can recover and rebuild. i'm only training 3 or 4 days a week now. it's tough when you've got a sprog. i'm mostly going to classes, mainly because they're quick and efficient. a mix of circuits, boxing, kettlebells and spinning.
  19. I acquired a set of techniques 1210s with my student loan. That was back in the mid 90s mind when we didn't have fuck off big fees to deal with and before vinyl became obsolete.
  20. are any of these android phones worth getting then? i was hoping to ugrade my iphone 3gi, which has an ugly smashed dispaly screen, but am hearing on macrumours now that the iphone 5 isn't coming now until 2012. not happy with that and can't be arsed to wait that long with a smashed up phone if it turns out to be true.
  21. the atmosphere sounded canny on the sky highlights. is there a decent amount of noise being generated despite the closure of the singing section? did any of the leazes l7 lot manage to relocate enough of them to the same bit of the ground or was this just the crowd reacting to a good performance?
