  1. Well that was a shit transfer window, even by ashley's standards. Just when we thought we couldn't sink any lower after the carrol debacle. The fact is we were at least a striker or two light before we sold him.
  2. We got exactly what I expected from the cunts in charge - another utterly shit window - and yet I'm still left feeling totally disgusted by their ineptitude. I was clinging on to the faint hope that they might have bought a clue, but no. They're still a bunch of despicable fuckwits who really don't give a shiny shite about how we do this season. Shola, best and ba ffs - officially the shittest strikeforce in the top flight.
  3. Same. I really should know better than to allow myself to even contemplate ambition with regard to nufc as long as ashley is in the chair. Time to put my cynical hat back on. Go team negative.
  4. I cannot believe that even Ashley, who has already proven time and again to be completely inept when it comes to running a football club, really thinks we can get by with a strikeforce of shola, best and ba. Hasn't he learned any lessons from relegation? Fuckwit.
  5. So CT, what's your assessment of how this window has gone?
  6. If we sign this ruiz and ridgewell I will dance a merry dance, praise CT and hail a glorious victory for team positive while tucking into a generous helping of humble pie.
  7. This sorry outcome was so predictable. Why anyone gets their hopes up with these knackers in charge is beyond me. I'm directing this at you CT and your misguided optimism for what it's worth. Yet another disappointing window, with key players sold and not replaced, particularly galling considering how much money we have taken in this year and the complete lack of depth in the squad and quality up front. Another thoroughly depressing victory for team negative.
  8. So we bid just below the asking price? How convenient. We're sitting on 35m. Why not just give them the extra 5m? Oh yeah, that's right, because we've no intention of signing anyone, unless it's on the cheap. Shame on Lee Ryder for trying to back up the club's hope they can take us for mugs.
  9. Of course they do, thats why we are having bids knocked back left, right and centre. (Thats not giving them an out btw. Should have been sorted long before today). The fact that we're having bids knocked back on the last day of the window despite having since January and 35m in the bank to replace Carroll tells you all you need to know about how seriously this hunt for a new striker is being taken. I see two potential outcomes - we sign someone who is significantly cheaper and a poorer player than Carroll in the Carlton Cole mould, or we fail to secure a replacement - just like in January. The fact we are even having this discussion is an absolute pisstake by the board given the time they've had to sort it and the cash in the bank. Obviously I hope I'm wrong and they pull out a belting last minute signing, but why assume anything better from this lot on past evidence?
  10. I'd take a shit championship striker like carlton cole ahead of the second most likely outcome - no new striker. We did it in January. It would be foolhardy to expect this lot to have learned their lesson. If anything, they probably reckon we're alright for strikers given we survived after flogging carroll without replacing him.

  12. I just know that the day the open top bus rolls through Newcastle with Pardew and the team showing off the FA Cup.....some fucker on here will moan about something. I honestly don't see that happening with current lot in charge. The reason being that for every promising player we sign, we flog an existing first teamer. You don't win trophies with tiny squads. And that's why I don't reckon I was missing the point in your earlier post. I agree that our scouting network seems better now than for a while but that is negated by our lack of depth. A lot of the players coming in are exciting young prospects but they're mostly unproven in this league. While the policy of scouting cheap young talent is a sound one, it falls on it arse if there's no experience or leadership in the squad to back it up. I'm not genuinely excited by this transfer window. If I was, you wouldn't see me 'moaning'. I think we've just about done enough to get a similar mid table finish to last season. But the squad hasn't been significantly strengthened. And with 35m in the bank from the Carroll sale alone, I would have liked to seen us sign more players, or to have kept hold of our quality senior pros from last season as well as recruiting this new batch of players.
  13. CT, if we'd bought in the above and managed to keep hold of the senior players that did such a good job for us over the past couple of seasons, you might have a point. The fact remains that tje squad is still wafer thin and the reserves are mostly deadwood. The board have picked up one or two exciting players but their main aim was always to balance the books, and in most cases make money. If we had added these players while keeping hold of Carrol, Nolan, Barton and Enrique, I would have shared your optimism. The reality is we are a couple of injuries away from Kadar at centre back and Lovnkrands our front line striker.
  14. I'm liking the sound of this signing. No place at Newcastle always sounds good. Anyone seen much of this lad? Got to be decent if Mourinho rates him...
  15. gosling and ba should be nowhere the first team after their no shows on thursday
  16. win the cup? nah, not in my lifetime.
  17. Still better than our current options at right wing i reckon.
  18. he'd smash it. be hanging out the back of it tbh
