  1. I think that's very generous. It was his biggest spending window...but the outlay was only £6.6m http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...9&hl=ashley Nutz is confident Ashley will double his previous high net spend....despite the statement from the club saying we won't spend big. Think positive and it will happen Gloom, Ashley won't be able to resist. i was referring more to paying the going rate on transfer fees and wages rather than overall net spend, but you're right of course. i think he sanctioned a £10m fee on collicini, a £6m fee on barton and £80k and £60k per week wages respectively. he hasn't even done that since. plus the overall net spends have reduced to the point that we often make profits in transfer windows. nevermind all that though, if we're all just close our eyes and think positive happy thoughts, everything will be alright won't it?
  2. Tenner? I gave a tenner to comic relief, SBR Foundation means more to me than that. £50? Fair enough. (I thought you were a young lad and didn't want to put something ott for you, so good on you). Good luck! Im 25 mate just good to give a little back. Im confident by the way why? when has ashley spent big recently? i think you can count one transfer window back when he first took over when he splashed the cash. since then, he's been making minor net spends but mainly making profits, hence why we have been doing so poorly. your optimism on this is misguided i'm afraid. i'd love for you to be right of course but i really don't think being positive will encourage mike ashley to reverse his recent spending trend.
  3. Back training tomorrow after three weeks paternity leave where i did next to no exercise and generally ate like a fat bastard. Going to do a savage session of total body circuits with my trainer tomorrow, boxing Tuesday, spinning Wednesday, more weights Thursday, rest on Friday and Saturday then 11 a side footie on Sunday. Rinse and repeat. Bring the mother fucking ruckas.
  4. Does that feel better unloading your burden of guilt years after unloading your guts? And to think I nearly got away with it after all these years
  5. Bollocks. Mouthing off on a message board has fuck all to do with the backing the lads get. I tell it like i see it on here but back the team till the final whistle at the match. Your particular brand of mindless optimism on here is just annoying.
  6. there was a phantom shitter at my school who used to drop logs in the middle of the floor in the lads' bogs. he was never named and shamed.
  7. i could see barton dropping a heed on him tbh
  8. your final word is correct he is/was a disruptive little s*** why get him back when he's past it??? cos hes better than any of our current strikers. can you see ashley getting in a better striker? still has 2-3 good years left in the tank
  9. a wage cap would break EU employment laws. can't see that happening.
  10. Jesus, you're such a dick. Where did i say we'd lose today? Never said you did...just highlighting being positive is good. yeah, you're right. today's result is all down to your positive mental attitude.
  11. Jesus, you're such a dick. Where did i say we'd lose today?
  12. Not quite a must win but certainly a must not lose.
  13. Agree but there would be shedloads of empty seats. Extending t he gallowgate to level 7 would be more than big enough for us. I expect we'd only get 60k in if we were to ever establish ourselves as top 6 again. The east stand is unlikely to ever be extended because of the houses right behind the ground.
  14. When you start noticing how disrespectful kids today are. Playing music on packed trains through a mobile phone ffs
  15. When most new music sounds like noise.
  16. When the hair you're losing from your head starts growing out of your eyebrows and nostrils.
  17. Can't see qpr selling the player they built the side around if they win the championship.
  18. aye, i couldn't believe that one. we wouldn't have come back against arsenal if it wasn't for the crowd's belief and backing. bit rich of him to blame us supporting the team though on him not being able to get them to shut up shop and defend a lead.
  19. you particular brand of mindless optimism is beyond tedious. It was a shit interview given by a manager so grateful to have a job that he will toe the party to the extent that he loses and credibilty he had left. Ashley doesn't give a shit about the club and we will never progress with him in charge. Stop trying to polish the turd of a situation the club is in. ironic that you are saying exactly the same sort of thing I say, but when I do it you condemn it. i actually agree with you that the new board are gash and far worse than the previous board. but your endless mission to use the flaws of the current regime to big up the previous regime (which was also far from perfect), is tedious. and the fact that you steer every thread towards the same old argument is dry man. it was an interesting debate the first time but time to move on for you and the sake of the board. edit - it's the same in general chat with the islam debate. i agree with you about islamist extremists - i find them sickening too. but it's the same argument every time and just gets tired quickly.

Yup, all about how great your missus is and lucky you are so on so forth and a few thanks for this and that to the parents. i can't remember doing the speech as bestman at all, learnt it off by heart a month or so before the wedding as i was bricking it, stood up went through the motions and it went down well. Was me and another friend both doing bestman, he did first half of the speech (really laid back fella) me 2nd half, he wrote his half the night before the wedding in my house, totally froze when he stood up. Be prepared! etc band he had were great played the usual cheesy stuff during the evening do, but as people filtered out and left it was just our group and another small crowd of people left, at which point they started playing ac/dc etc... The last song of their wedding was "Enter Sandman" Ive done a best man and a groom speech and the groom speech is way easier. Far less pressure to be really funny, more about thanking everyone that helped for the wedding and telling everyone how amazing the mrs is. Doesnt need to be that long either. The opening line should always be 'on behalf of my wife and i'.... Guaranteed to get loads of cheers.
  21. Quite the opposite. While I'm at the match, I back the lads through out. But what wont do is try to put a positive spin on a situation like ours. I'm a happy person in life but Im realistic enough not to see anything positive about our plight under ashley. We will not move forward with him in charge. When you accept that, your posts will be taken more seriously. The fact that you saw that radio interview with pardew as positive beggars belief.

Agree with j69 about getting a band as well as djs. I've seen some brilliant wedding bands in recent years. It's funny like how as you get into your 30s, weddings become the most common social gatherings of you and your mates after birthdays. I went to 6 last year. A mate of mine went to 12! Once you included stag dos (most of which are weekends away these days) that's about half the weekends in his year gone!

Good call on the photo booth. One of my mates that got hitched recently had one. It was awesome. Came with loads of fancy dress too which was brilliant craic the more drunk everyone got. Everyone got loads more than two sets done then there was a website where everyone could view them all. A mini casino sounds quality too.
