  1. what a result. fair play to pardew like; it takes some performance to get a result at old trafford. we keep surpassing expectations, and you have to tip your hat to the manager when you look at the way he's had to assemble a side on a shoestring. i had no idea i'd be looking forward to motd so much this season. i quite fancy a result against chelsea at home now. it'll be interesting to see though what the atmosphere is like. the team need backing but the owner needs slating too over the name change.
  2. i really like the design of the new anfield with the massive kop stand. bit different to the usual bowl design. good to see a massive lack of progress there though
  3. i can't see anything but a home win this weekend. man u are the masters of picking up three points even when they're not playing that well. and they almost always beat us at home. we've only picked up two points out of the last ten visits there.
  4. I tell you what though, I'll stop mentioning him altogether if everyone else promises to stop biting and cluttering up the forum. Alternatively, I'll take him off ignore if leazesmag promises to drop it.
  5. I'm honestly not. I can't see what he's posting, I don't give a fuck if he bites at what i say. I wouldn't keep mentioning it if it wasn't evident in almost every single thread, even with him on ignore. Just wish more people would let it lie for the sake of the board. The irony about leazesmag of couse is he can be a half decent poster when he's not banging on about the same old crap.
  6. It's hard not to when you see the same shit in every thread. If fewer people rose to it, perhaps he'd stop. This place would improve tenfold if you could enter what looks like an interesting topic without knowing its going to end up in the usual ding dong over Ashley v shepherd. It's killing this place man
  7. I think he's more culpable. He goes fishing for bites in every single thread be posts in. I can see that even with him on ignore. Agee that more people should refrain from biting
  8. Leazesmag should change his username to threadkiller. You can barely find one topic on here that he's posted in that hasn't descended into the usual farce.
  9. Not true. My granddad, Scottish catholic, converted to marry my grandma.
  10. How the fuck could we? what, no bites?
  11. this is one of the hardest things to explain to people; being Anti Zionist (for example opposing Israeli occupation of Palestine) is not being Anti Semite (which is prejudice against Jews). i think your post brings out the difference, in being Anti Zionist but not Anti Semitic. I've met a fair few Jewish millionaires and one billionaire they were all Zionists to a man. None even considered Palestine as having any claim to statehood. The real difference is the normal Jews in Israel (who aren't propogandised or in the army) have relatively balanced views on Palestine and the role of Israel in international affairs. But the ruling intelligencia of that country are bordering on genocidal maniacs. Rabin was a great man. There were real prospects for peace with him leading Israel. As long as the Likud are in power with the likes of Sharon and Netanyahu are in charge, there will never be real reconciliation. The problem for Israel, is while most people that live there are liberal and pro-peace, there are a small minority of extremeists that weild far too much influence in the Knesset. Plus a generation that grew up living in fear amid suicide bombers is becoming more reactionary in the way it votes.
  12. the original (and the best) mix. hand in the air on this one, for shiz
  13. lest we forget the holocaust is without doubt the darkest and most extreme example of genocide in history. shocking that we've seen similar cases of ethnic cleansing elsewhere across the globe in recent years.
  14. Do you think if Mike Ashley had bought the club in 1992, we would have had the 15 years that we had under the previous regime ? Don't answer a question with a question. What is your answer? It's a ridiculous hypothetical question though tbf. Not especially, it's a straight, albeit hypothetical, comparison between the old board and the current owner. do we really need to drag that debate on any longer though? it's been done to death and beyond. if we all stop, maybe leazesmag will stop too. please make it stop. it's killing this board. even with leazesmag on ignore there's no escape from it
  15. What happened to the riverside? I loved that place as a teenager. Fond memories include my first eve cowie to the sounds of josh wink at the shindig and seeing noel Gallagher get sparked out on stage by some radgie at oasis's first ever Newcastle gig.
  16. I used to love the barley mow. Had the best jukebox in town. Perfect for a pre-gig pint at the riverside.
  17. Always used to be a fan of a post - planet earth mission to munchies. Probably rank but any shite tastes good after 10 pints
  18. While I appreciate the fact the new look of the forum means the ignore tool results in me barely noticing when leazes posts, the problem of me having to read his stuff through others' quote pyramids remains. Can the mods please fix this? I'm utterly bored of reading him post the same old shite in every single thread. Would be great if ignore could also block quotes. Is it possible to do this?
  19. As far as fishing goes, you dont get much more blatant an attempt than this Baggio effort. I'm sure the most likely candidate to bite is due back from the pub before too long.
  20. Who suggested he was anywhere near as good as Enrique?
  21. I dont think we'd suffer a great deal on the set pieces by not having him in if we've cabaye and Ben arfa playing As I've said in the past, raylor is an accident waiting to happen in just about every game he plays. Poor defender with shocking positional sense. Just because he can deliver a free kick occasionally...and he can...that isn't enough to overcome his defensive inadequacy. He's lucky he has Jonas working his arse off around him. i'd agree with that if you'd made the argument at the start of the season but you have to give him credit for his positional discipline this season. i don't remember him making any massive errors prior to the city game. whatever pardew has been doing seems to have been working. the evidence is in the goals against column. Then you should agree with me. I made this point about Taylor long ago. He is a poor player who constantly gets caught out and is pretty much a liability. I'm surprised you don't see that. i did see it prior to this season, never rated him and like everyone elese, i didn't fancy him at left back at all. but to be fair to taylor, he's in the team on merit. he's been a solid left back for most of the season up until now and is proof that limited players can improve with good coaching. i don't think he should be dropped on the back of one poor performance. if this is the return fo the old taylor then fair enough, give the other lad a go. he's earned one more crack though to prove it is just a blip.
  22. tbh, i think appointing souness was almost as idiotic a move as appointing joe kinnear was.

  24. he's first in the queue for any free kicks in dangerous situations. he whips in almost all of our set pieces into the box better than anyone i've seen and he almost always gets it over the wall and tests the keeper with direct efforts - a v difficult thing to do consistently. don't know why he isn't on corners tbh. he hits the ball flatter and with more dip than cabaye going on what i've seen. cabaye's deliveries seem to have less pace on them. taylor's are a nightmare to defend.
