How do you suggest that the bankers pay? Higher taxes on bonuses would be a start
-
I don't get osborne's obsession with cutting the deficit so quickly. It seems his plan of a couple of years of pain followed by the Tories romping the next election on a wave of optimism was misguided. We're looking at years of this shit now. And any sane economist will tell you that you don't get growth after years of austerity.
-
No one disputes that the something had to be done about the public finances but these cuts are too fast. They are too agressive. We are heading for many more years of austerity. Higher taxes and budget cuts are now set to continue long into the next parliament. Gordon Brown was right about the double dip. The rise in benefits was a concession to the lib dems. The 1% freeze on public sector pay (a real terms pay cut) is almost thatcherite - a very agressive move by the public school boy chancellor the day before national strikes. Shouldn't the bankers that got us into this mess be forced to do more to bail us out. It seems more than a little unfair that public sector workers, mostly on modest wages, are the ones set to feel the pain. What have they done to deserve it?

The great depression of the 1930s led to protectionism, the rise of nationalist government, fascism and ultimately world war. We are now arguably on the brink of a second GD. Could the economic, social and political consequences be as bad this time round?
-
These deep, fast and aggressive cuts aren't working Georgey boy. A decade of austerity beckons and no surprise that under the Tories, the poor will be hurt most.

it's a no from me. can't imagine anyone voting yes other than CT and assorted wind up merchants.

I'm excited by what he'll be like when fully fit. Its only been glimpses so far but he looks better with every game. He's obviously in a different league technically to the rest of the squad. Looks an arsenal player to me.

it's infuriating

i found the crowd at swansea breaking into applause quite moving. it was spontaneous and affectionate. it wasn't arseholes that were making disrepectful noises that started it i don't think. still can't get my head around this story. very sad indeed.
-
we never should have sold him when we did either. our decline coincided with his departure and he went on to put in at least another three or four good years in at bolton. still stunned by this news.
-
he was on footie focus yesterday, looking in great shape, articulate and seemingly happy. mad
-
more disgusting highlights, this time on soccer saturday. didn't show any of our first half chances. only the collocini effort and the pen. then the analysis is all about the pen decision. fair play though to vinnie jones for saying we're back where we belong
-
fucking hell, suicide! so sad. i guess someone can look like they've got everything but still you never know what's going on under the surface. absolutely quality quality player for us. RIP
-
who was making thease analysis like shearer and lawro
-
disgusting analysis on motd. it was all about us defending as if the whole 90 mins was backs to the wall. they didn't highlight any of our attacking play at all.
-
what a result. fair play to pardew like; it takes some performance to get a result at old trafford. we keep surpassing expectations, and you have to tip your hat to the manager when you look at the way he's had to assemble a side on a shoestring. i had no idea i'd be looking forward to motd so much this season. i quite fancy a result against chelsea at home now. it'll be interesting to see though what the atmosphere is like. the team need backing but the owner needs slating too over the name change.

i really like the design of the new anfield with the massive kop stand. bit different to the usual bowl design. good to see a massive lack of progress there though
-
i can't see anything but a home win this weekend. man u are the masters of picking up three points even when they're not playing that well. and they almost always beat us at home. we've only picked up two points out of the last ten visits there.

Pardew - two players max to come in during the January window
Dr Gloom replied to Monroe Transfer's topic in Newcastle Forum
I tell you what though, I'll stop mentioning him altogether if everyone else promises to stop biting and cluttering up the forum. Alternatively, I'll take him off ignore if leazesmag promises to drop it. -

I'm honestly not. I can't see what he's posting, I don't give a fuck if he bites at what i say. I wouldn't keep mentioning it if it wasn't evident in almost every single thread, even with him on ignore. Just wish more people would let it lie for the sake of the board. The irony about leazesmag of couse is he can be a half decent poster when he's not banging on about the same old crap. -

It's hard not to when you see the same shit in every thread. If fewer people rose to it, perhaps he'd stop. This place would improve tenfold if you could enter what looks like an interesting topic without knowing its going to end up in the usual ding dong over Ashley v shepherd. It's killing this place man -

I think he's more culpable. He goes fishing for bites in every single thread be posts in. I can see that even with him on ignore. Agee that more people should refrain from biting -

Leazesmag should change his username to threadkiller. You can barely find one topic on here that he's posted in that hasn't descended into the usual farce. -
That's pretty offensive.
