  1. Course he could. To get to Tottenham's level, which is almost competing in a sustainable way, would take £150m worth of investment, and a comparative drop in the ocean to him. He'll be dead soon anyway with cholesterol related health problems. Why have all that money and do nothing with it? So around 50% of his total wealth, in total, you expect him to put in. How many other owners have done that ?? He's worth £1.1b. All of his assets. £150m is loose change to him. the thing is, he wouldn't even need to spend that much. i think all of us accept that we won't spend all of the money he's made from transfers but if we were to reinvest just 20 odd million each summer, we'd be in decent shape.
  2. exactly. we've gone from one extreme to another.
  3. ambition is a choice, not a right to demand, Ashley made his choice ages ago and people such as yourself took the ambition for granted. Sorry like, but that is the truth. eh? no i didn't. what are you on about now? you tell me. You appear to have performed a massive u-turn. Whenever I've said what you are saying now, you've massively disagreed with me. no i haven't. you must have me mixed up with someone else. your problem is you see everything in black and white. everyone is either in the shepherd or ashley camp and that makes them either right or wrong in your eyes. i wanted shepherd out. i blame his stupid decision making on us not kicking on after SBR re-established us as a top side. shepherd's time in charge had come to an end. it was time for a change at the top. but at least you can say he had ambition that our current owner lacks and he gave a shit about the club and the fans. who could have predicted we would have ended up with the worst chairman of a football club in the country? i don't want shepherd and i don't want ashley. but of the two, ashley is so bad that you'd take shepherd back just to be rid of him.
  4. Can't have helped, those that did due dilligence ran away. The subsidy is down to the fact we were literally brassic. he's a billionaire man; it's not like he's short of a bob or two is it? if he really wanted us to be succesful on the field, he'd put more money into player recruitment, whether that's his own, or the profits he's made from player sales.

  6. Link/evidence please, he's putting in (or has been) not taking out. That "will" change in the summer (one way or the other). ashley's shafting us by receiving big money for players and not reinvesting it in the squad. isn't that obvious? do you honestly expect to see the 50m net profit he's made from player sales reinvested? i don't. i don't even expect him to invest the kind of cash most us us would be happy with - the going amount needed to assemble a half decent squad in other words. he hasn't done it so far, why would he change all of a sudden? It's not obvious no. Far from it. If he'd spent the transfer surplus before now, he'd just have had to cover it out of his pocket on top of the circa £20 mill he's been putting in a year to cover the existing operational costs (even with the surplus coming in). This summer (because of the Carroll surplus) we can spend (for the first time) without him dipping further into his own cash, that's a BIG difference. Whether he will or not remains to be seen. Someone lending circa £20 mill a year at zero interest is hardly "shafting". If we were running at a loss and he was a net "taker" as opposed to a "giver", that's shafting. fuck me. you sound almost happy with the way he's running the club. you make it sound like we should be grateful for him bailing us out. he's only got himself to blame that he didn't do due due diligence he's a billionaire man. the fact that he hasn't dipped into his own cash at all to help fund our transfers tells you everything you need to know about his ambitions for the club.

  8. whichever way it's spun, the cold hard facts are that he's shafting us. he's getting shedloads of cash for players and he's not reinvesting it in the squad. that's why he's a cunt. and that's why it's difficult to get excited about our chances while he's in charge or to blame players for wanting to leave and play for more ambitious clubs.
  9. Your a thick cunt arent ya? That money stays in the club..... in what regard? have you seen him reinvest any of the massive profits he's made on player sales since he took over? he's made over £50m from selling players alone. you don't run a successful football club by consistently making profits on player transfers. he's a billionaire - he's got the cash to be splashing out, but he's a tight cunt and he'd rather turn profits than see success on the pitch. it's obvious man. there's no positive to cling to as long as this cunt's in charge unless he gets so lucky that our scouts unearth 11 more tiotes for next season or someone with a shred of ambition buys him out.
  10. that shot from outside the box when he could have played lovenkrands in for a one on one was naive. he is young like and has time to improve so i can see what some people are getting at. i'd say sell him if it looked like we were bringing in 2-3 quality strikers but as that is unlikely, we can't really afford to let him go. you never know, he could kick on and develop into a decent player but you're absolutely right that he's miles behind shola at the moment.
  11. lots of things. So. You gave me flak, and now admit I was right all along ? What do you have to say for yourself ? well no. i still don't agree with you about shepherd. for me, he was a chairman that made a lot of stupid mistakes. but i don't want to get into that with you - it's been done to death. what i would say though, is the moron in charge of the club right now makes like shepherd look like the best chairman there ever was. that's how shite ashley is.
  12. QFT I might as well save us all the hassle and code this into the forum. Anytime someone posts a transfer related thread, post this as the answer and close thread. Job Done. That may be true, but to borrow a verdict from Scottish Law, it's not proven. Could be in the summer though (or not). i will happily do a merry dance in fenwicks' window with my arse hanging out if you are right. everything we have seen so far suggests we will see a small net spend, if anything. this cunt is bleeding us for every pound he can get. he isn't going to blow £50m net all of a sudden - let alone a more modest figure that most of us would accept. obvioulsy i would love to be proved wrong but there is nothing to suggest he's going to do cuch a radical u turn on previous transfer windows is there? we just need to accept where we are until someone buys this cunt out and hope for best. he actually got lucky after relegation by stumbling across hughton and unearthing a couple of bargain buys. he's done his best to fuck things up since like by sacking hughton and making mroe net profits in transfer windows and that luck won't last for ever. for every tiote at 3.5m out there, there's an amdy faye. ah, at last. Gloomy bastard. What was it you used to disagree with me about again ? lots of things.
  13. Id love him to stay, he for me is the only major player i think could possibly leave in the summer. Cant see Tiote, Barton, Nolan or alike leaving. If we got 15 mil for him, that and the 35mil from Carroll then if we spend anything less than 40mil theres going to be uproar. Theres no way we can take in that kind of money and justify not spending it, especially when its already evident that we NEED at least 5 players as it is. I do however thing that we will spend quite a bit in the summer, its time for ashley to show his hand. Or fuck off. 40mil = 1x Quality striker 10mil (From europe likely) 4x Young promising squad players 5mil and a LB 10mil We can live in hope. for fuck's sake, i'm getting bored of reading this drivel. he's not going to spend anywhere near that, just accept it.

  15. Yup to be brutally honest i'd rather have him on than shola, i'd rather be infuriated by someone getting into positions and just not having the confidence to finish them than be annoyed by someone who just doesn't bother doing anything. Shola is more of an asset than Ranger, he's stronger, he's better in the air, he's got a better touch and he's got better positional sense. As painful as it is to say it we actually miss Shola when he isn't playing, we're lacking any sort of presence up front with Ranger and Lovenkrands together. true that. we had zero presence in the air and no one capable of holding it up. for all shola's faults, he can do both of those things.
  16. look, we're not going to do a spurs ok? we don't have ambitious owner; we have a fat twat who sells high and buys low and doesn't give a shite whether we tread water or sink like a stone. there is nothing to suggest that he's going to start spending money now given the evidence of previous transfer windows. why sell one of your best players anyway? i tell you why, it's because we're a selling club now. simple. it's not part of any grand plan to help fund a summer spending spree.
  17. yeah, what a great model. let's sell all our best players replace them with cheap tat.
  18. 12 angry men is one of the best films ever made
  19. do you honestly think we can afford to let top players like enrique go with mike ashley holding the purse strings?
  20. wrong. he played some poor passes but was still better than barton, ranger, lovenkrands, taylor, collocini, guthrie et al
  21. not particularly, no. at least no more than any of the other senior players - i wouldn't single enrique out. most of them will want off after ashley's actions this season and who could blame them? unless the likes of nolan, barton and enrique are offered new deals i think there will be an exodus. i don't get why people keep singling enrique out for criticism. he's been consistently one of our best players for two years. he's the kind of player we should be giving extensions to, not selling.
  22. Id say sell but we're already light of strikers and can't see us getting enough bodies to let him go without relying on another kuqi type panic buy to make up the numbers.
  23. Agreed Pap Laz, I don't know which game Ant was watching. Ranger was woeful. Enrique one of the few to put in a good shift.
