i wish i'd got it wrong but i was right about the decision to sack bobby robson being a mad one. i seem to remember being in the minority on this board. the consensus among everyone else seemed to be that it was time for a change. i was gutted when he was sacked and had a feeling in my bones that we'd struggle after he was sacked. turns out we've been on a downward spiral ever since - i reckon our decline can be traced back to that decision. no one could have predicted fat fred would have replaced him with souness or that things would have got even worse under ashley but sacking a great manager while we were an established top 5 club was the turning point for me.

Depends on how much we're spending in total. If that's a big chunk of our kitty (which I expect to be the case) then possibly too much of a risk. We need proven players as well as ones with potential.

what was he banned for? i personally think there should be a "special" forum set up for just him and leazes to carry on the old "debate" on a daily basis. it should be open to those deranged enough to want to watch or join in, but kept separate from the main toon forum. any mention of the debate in the toon forum should result in an automatic ban.
