What a fairytale it would have been in Gateshead had made it into the Football League. Punching well above their weight in a Conference Division, made up mainly of much better supported teams, who dont have the third best supported club in England within spitting distance. (To feature like Dean, send in your letters/articles for our website to contribute@themag.co.uk) Wembley was a fabulous experience and Gateshead owner Graham Wood and manager Gary Mills deserve every bit of credit for coming within a whisker of pulling it off. Many of the travelling support at Wembley, including me, have taken this end of season Gateshead near miss as an antidote to the misery Mike Ashley is inflicting on Newcastle United. However, I had to have a little smile as I looked around the Wembley terraces at the number of regulars I spotted from St.James Park, proudly sporting their brand new Gateshead strips bought specially for the occasion no doubt. Yes, there are very few places that the reach of Mike Ashley doesnt get to these days and sadly every fan buying a Gateshead kit was putting a few quid into the Newcastle owners back pocket. Sondico are the Gateshead shirt manufacturers and yes, they are part of Ashleys empire of companies/brands. The more eagle eyed of you will recall seeing Sondico (as well as countless other Ashley brands on top of Sports Direct) flashing around the advertising hoardings in the course of last season. Ironically, despite living in Newcastle I have seen more freshly bought Gateshead shirts in the last week than I have spotted new NUFC grey change kits. Where Mike Ashley is concerned you often feel that you are constantly swimming against the tide but when the alternative is submitting/drowning, what choice do you have?

Excellent summary expect more of the same next season & the season after & the season after etc etc.

My original point about Ashley's wealth was to highlight how much he'd made in the last 12 months. Which is undoubtedly because the club is a free advertising machine for Sports Direct. Were a lot of clubs have the name of the club all over the ground signage seats etc. Anyone paying for ppv in the far east would be forgiven for thinking they were watching Sports Direct United.
-
So know these minutes have been issued and the club intentions are now known why would anyone pay good money to go to St James Park . If it's for the craic with your mates you may as well go the pub or for a meal use your £30 that way. It can't be for the football because tbh you'd see better at a sunday league match. All he wants is your money he's not interested in the clubs history, the fans, the football, nothing just keep handing over the money. If you want rid of him cut off the money supply.
-
So thats De Jong gone, Shola going, Remy going at least we've got Cisse ah shit he's got a broken knee cap hasn't he. So that's a brand new set of strikers we need just to start with.
-
What more could these pricks possibly do? If they could get away with it call the club Sports Direct United they've tried to change the name of the ground they've renamed Shearer's bar. Undermined Keegan got rid of Hughton, they have a blatant disregard for the fans no interest in football. They're a set of bastards Ashley, Pardew, Charnley & co you can guarantee just when you think they can't get any lower they'll always hold something back. I used to work at Lonrho Textiles which was owned by Tiny Rowland who was described as the unacceptable face of capitalism. I support Newcastle United owned by Mike Ashley who I now name as the unacceptable face of football.

Got yer Rayvin.

" I dare say someone will think of a reason why it wouldn't." Mike fuckin' Ashley wouldn't allow anyone to buy any part of the club while he's making the vast amounts of money through free advertising. It would have to be an all or nothing buy out. Personally I think he keeps the never ending loan going to make the club have a false value that way it will deter any potential buyers for the club
-
He made nearly £4 million a day last year that's a lot of money and yet he's running the club on a shoestring.
-
I'm not saying he should put all his money in it's just an example of the money he's made in the last 12 months. He's fucking rolling in it and could invest a bit of it in the football side of the club instead of using the club as a free advertising platform.
-
The thing that bothers me is they spend £25/30 million in the window and everything will be forgotten. Dont forget even spending that only accounts for a weeks worth of Ashley's earnings.

Every crowd has a silver lining

Talk about gluttons for punishment it would be more fun throwing your £30 a fortnight in a big pile in the Strawberry car park and burning it.
-
In the past 12 months Ashley's made £1,450,000,000 Which works out at over £3,900,000 every day So much money so little investment in the club.
-
What ever's done it would be helpful to have everyone involved together fan clubs, forums, social media sites, etc. Put any differences to one side try and get the local media involved I'm sure they'd be willing seeing as they're frozen out of press conferences and were blamed for poor performance's by Pardew. Try and approach some of the big businesses that have boxes at the ground (big money spinners) At the moment the obvious obstacle is the season's finished so any form of protest/boycott just isn't going to happen. Also if the club splash £25/30 million on a few players then that'll work in their favour with fans thinking well we'll give it a go see what happens. We need something in place for the first game of the season regardless of what's spent because the football wont be taking priority with this lot in charge.

Any ideas Mr Fish ?
