  1. Nothing as heroic He plays a lot of ice-hockey and has developed extra bone on the back of his heel from his skates. They have to detach his achilles tendon, shave the bone back and re-pin the tendon. 6 weeks off work - bastard!
  2. Heard about this yesterday on N-O - A poster on there is a friend/colleague of his. Absolutely awful
  3. Sitting here at work waiting for the morning staff to come on having set up theatres for the morning surgery. First patient on the list? One of my colleagues - my little brother. Very weird
  4. I'm far from a proper Catholic! But I'm a quiet one that takes the bits from the faith that help me. I hope my son will do the same and I'll teach him that it's okay for him to do that. Incidentally his daddy is a teacher at a non-Catholic school and has absolutely no religious affiliation whatsoever but he trusts me enough to make that decision regarding our son's education and faith which I appreciate hugely.
  5. Slightly worrying that I'm thinking on your wavelength though. This can't end well for anyone!
  6. Then forget about the photo - just do it tomorrow when you get to work.
  7. Obviously it's taught as a priority but it by no means excludes other religions. I can only speak from my own experience and I left school 20 yrs ago (fucking hell man) but it wasn't all fire and brimstone and we were taught about other religions too. Oh and rest assured that I'm broad-minded enough to teach and encourage my son to make up his own mind when it comes to his beliefs. Bear in mind that I'm a divorced single mother who should have been struck by lightning and ex-communicated a long time ago.
  8. It's a Catholic school so the places are allocated by the school themselves as they are voluntary aided as opposed to the LEA. Priority is given to children in care (very few in our area) then it's children who have a sibling in the school already then children who are baptised and live in the parish (us) After that it's children outside the parish/not baptised/of other faiths/miscellaneous etc. Thing is, the school is only admitting 25 children into reception class which is the smallest amount in the local area so I'm just a bit twitchy about it. It's also the school I went to as a child and I know it's an excellent school with a good OFSTED report. Anyway, officially I find out on April 16th but I also know 2 of the school governors who decide who gets places. I've so far avoided asking them outright if the bairn has a place but I may give in over the next 2 weeks...
  9. Aaaaaand David Miliband resigns as SAFC director due to "the new manager's past political statements..."
  10. Had a lovely Easter Sunday with the family and then took the bairn for his first ever Arena show. For those of you with kids - Justin Fletcher is a genius I now have the stress of the next couple of weeks waiting to find out if the bairn has got a place at the school I want him to go to in September. Kind of regretting not putting a second choice down now even though we fit all of the criteria to get into my first choice...

Happy Easter and that. I was awake before the bairn this morning which never happens. Now going to be a good girl and go to church.

    Yo kids..

Before you go to bed tonight will be just fine. Unless you're on nights in which case your shift will be over before you know it!
  14. I can guarantee that won't happen because they're stubborn little monsters
  15. Happy. Finishing 3 nights tomorrow morning just in time for Easter Think of the BH enhancements anyway!
