  1. In addition to the Euro U-21s, we of course also have this to watch over the summer....all matches are on the BBC. England are in Group F, playing France (9 June), Mexico (13 June) and Colombia (17 June). Come on you Three Lionesses!
  2. You're fitter than I imagined Monkey.
  3. Taken literally, this could of course mean we could be seeing Ashley putting the club up for sale as early as March 2016, when we win the Capital One Cup. Here's hoping......
  4. OK, so this is the new philosophy from now on, according to Ashley. Shouldn't we infer then that there will be an announcement about the manager's position by the end of next week? So that whoever it is can get on with assessing this shithouse of a squad and set about identifying the targets to spend all the money we will supposedly be receiving this summer?
  5. It's quite quaint how they still persist in showing the merged the highlights on the last day, as if there's a single person out there who either doesn't already know what happened, or has actually avoided it just so they can relive the 'drama' in pseudo real time.
  6. I wouldn't be so sure about that, it's close in terms of MLAs (47-49 just last month), which you would presume in a place like NI was well behind the curve regarding popular opinion. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2015-northern-ireland-32488247
  7. Brendan Rodgers is now not going to go to Wembley tomorrow to watch his son in the playoff final, because, y'know, you just can't leave when Liverpool get humped, you have to have a post-mortem. What an ass.
  8. Careful people. I can almost see into Charnley's mind.......'I see that Gary Monk fella did it, so why not?' Let's just thank him for his service and apologise for his poor treatment and leave it at that.
  9. Aye, let's give him the benefit of the doubt. He's finally realised whatever it was that was the root cause of all the countless previous mistakes, and it's all about to change from now on. Although having said that - the statement was largely about money, and the finance director left a few days ago. He could have a point this guy.....new dawn here we come!
  10. Well, considering I posted the topic as soon as he'd said it, technically that is correct, at least for all the posters who were not watching Sky at that very second. But your ridiculous interpretation is of course not remotely reflective of what I actually said.
  11. He openly criticised the club's direction after the game. I'm taking that as a sign he already knows he's not being kept whatever happens.
  12. I thought its momentousness deserved separating from the general thread. It was after all his first TV interview. But what do I know, I'm just a mackem, I wouldn't know anything about how to best direct NUFC fans to information they might want to read/discuss.
  13. He was at pains to point out that appointing the managers has nothing to do with him, that's all on Charnley.
  14. Probably shouldn't post where I found it, but I thought this was quite funny
  15. Well, we shall soon know. He did after all make it clear he wanted to know before he went on his holidays in two days time.
  16. Presumably because neither have any resale value, but one is 5 years younger than the other.
  17. What are you celebrating? Another season in the PL under Ashley? You just saw right before your eyes what awaits next season - Williamson, Anita, Riviera. How shit must a person's life be to be happy in these circumnstances?
  18. You wish I was a Mackem. Classic case of shoot the messenger. Wake up and smell the coffee, this is no triumph, it's just another sign of how low our club has fallen under Ashley. Just by doing what they do normally, the mackems came within a whisper of finishing above us. It's embarrassing.
  19. My, how some people so quickly forget umpteen derby defeats in a row. Mr 'daddy's cock' and his ilk have every reason to gloat - finishing above the mackems is a normal expectation for us, so just scraping it at the last knockings of a joke of a second half of a season is nothing to crow about. Our recent Derby record is shameful, and is no way erased by this Pyrrhic victory.
  20. I'd say it was to take the heat out of Keegan's interview and ultimately because he, like most people, was probably anticipating us going down and so just panicked and said whatever came to mind that might persuade gullible people to give him another chance.
  21. How is it any wonder? We lost those games because we were in holiday mode, because a) we had a manager who was just a temp, and we have an owner who said the club's only goal is to maintain our PL status.
  22. Today has been immeasurably worse than expected. Not only did we stay up, condemning us to yet another Ashley season, we did so because of the effort of players who will not be here next season (because of Ashley's model), leaving us with the likes of Williamson, Anita and Riviera, because, well, who the fuck is going to buy them off us? Finishing above Sunderland is great, until you realise that's how a normal NUFC season is supposed to end. Under Ashley it's become a goal, rather than an expectation. We didn't even get to spoil Fat Sam's contract negotiations with a great performance, he clearly knew he was off weeks ago, and this result will have zero likelihood on him getting another PL job, because West am actually played alright considering it was a nothing game for them.
