Basically saying He would 'Love it....'

At least Shearer has got a foreskin.

Yes the 4-3 shite is bollocks (I think his average scoreline in his first period as manager was 2-1). But the fact is the majority of Newcastle fans demand attractive football first and foremost. Otherwise, Allardyce would still be here, because we were in no danger. The 4-3 shite is bollocks in that sense, but the point it is making still stands I think. I don't know that Newcastle fans demands for attractive football are any way different to other fans tbh. I just think we're more of the mindset that you can only have success or attractive football. That theyre mutually exclusive-one or the other. That view needs to changed tbh. There's managers out there that can win trophies doing both. See Arsenal under Wenger and Man U under Fergie for 75% of their trophies.

Plus there are 6 exclamation marks in the title if you doubt his seriousness/sobriety. What more do you want?

They're all at the ground. i'm sure ssn have got one matey boy permanently positioned outside the ground and one outside the training ground. can't see how they'd have missed shearer Are you for one moment doubting the source of this story? This is SMO ffs! The man's word is gospel truth.

Amen to that. The concern is that the enthusiasm and euphoria is built on some sort of misguided belief that we will suddenly start doing that, so that when we inevitably don't, it will then wain. My take on it in all honesty is to see that Kev is here on some sort of humanitarian mission to restore the faith and give us hope and promise. Beyond that though and we need a more sophisticated strategy for the future management. I for one am not one of the apparent hordes (media creation???) that absolutely delights in 4-3 losses. It hurts to fuck tbh and I want to see some silverware in my lifetime.

Pie eyed tbh.

KK moved him there due to a pre-season injury crisis prior his first full season in the old first division iirc. I think he was very overrated as a CB btw. Much preferred Peacock and Albert. The former used to look bad at times because he was such am honest player imo. I remember him playing upfront under Ardiles, but for some reason I thought he'd been moved further back before the end of Ossie's time. Obviously my memory is shot. I agree he was overrated tho and the England call was staggering for me. Why did he get moved to CB then? Was Kevin Scott injured or Kilcline? Jesus Scott was shite an all, and we had hold of him for too long when we came up. Can't believe Spurs paid 2 mill for him.
-
Sure do, always looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights on the ball. How many games did he play? 4-5?
-
Anyone remember that young lad Mark Robinson? signed from Barnsley? Full back. Really early doors - (first half promotion season?) Anyways worst player ever Paul Kitson. Wtf? Don't think Ginola should have been top 5 either tbh. Sooopa Doooopa Hoooopa! wtfx2?! One for KCG's 'Twitchers' thread.
-
Picking up on one point, hadn't Howey moved back into the back four before Kev arrived? My memory's not what it used to be. Anyway Howey was a hopeless CB, England caps or not.

30 mill to blow in under a fortnight Gonna be like the Prem version of Supermarket Sweep.

See I find that's the view of the standard know fuck all, not that I'm saying you are. It's a popular view though, amongst the the clueless 80% of football fans, the same fans who think Hoddle is a shit coach. Not that I'm saying that applies to you, I don't think it does and you're entitled to your opinion, but the bloke is a man mountain, City have been shit but he's still been their player of the season 3 years in a row, he's a magnificent defender, to whoever said he was slow The modern day football fan, makes me feel embarrassed of my favourite sport. 1) Dunne was gash at Everton and started off terribly at Man City 2) Hoddle might be a decent coach. Bad manager. Ask Wolves fans. 3) Richard Dunne is slow. FACT. I don't think he's horrifically slow, just his physique means he doesnt quite look like the thoroughbred racehorse. That said though he is still demonstrably slower than most strikers in the Prem (maybe bar Viduka) and therefore your point stands. Stevie's splitting hairs in that post imho.

I hadn't heard that Rico, mate. I'd only heard that generally speaking he 'didn't see himself as a number 2'. Must have re-considered his position since last night on MOTD, though that is understandable given that nothing could have prepared anyone for the events of this week. It's still very surreal and feels like all previous bets are now off.
-
Agreed but still stand by my points above.
-
While it's all down to opinion and interpretation at the end of the day, I'm actually starting to feel that it shows a level of disrespect from him if he's not prepared to go and cut his teeth elsewhere first. Particularly now given that KK is here for 3.5 years (theoretically). He's said he wants the job-well it isnt' currently on offer any longer and shouldnt be the subject of speculation again for a fixed term, so go and do something which demonstrates your credentials rather than just expecting us to be handing it on a silver platter one day when theres potentially other promising managers with practical experience worthy of consideration.

I think He could keep us out of relegation without spending a penny tbh, just by (assuming He still has the passion) breathing life and enthusiasm into the bunch of competent, mid-table players that we currently have. What happens beyond that and beyond the end of the season is the bigger question. I wonder what He honestly, in His heart of hearts thinks He can achieve because that will ultimately communicate to the players, particularly given his method of management. When and at what level (in terms of league placing) that limitation becomes apparent it will be time for Ashley to move swiftly to look at the next phase. That might mean a quick and clean kill is needed where a new manager has been identified that can carry on the work. As long as that is all done above board, up front and cards-on-the-table from everyone's point of view I think Kev would accept that with good grace and we'd be indebted to Him once more. That's my best-case-realistic-scenario and I've got my fingers crossed. In the meantime, all the best to Him!

PS haven't we already got a Herman Jelmet on here or was that an old board?

Perfect time to sell Owen to Man City....
manc-mag replied to bassplayerjj's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think of all players he'll be the least directly affected by it, but in other ways he'll be the most affected (ie by service levels/goalscoring opportunities increasing) so he better fucking well raise his game to match. -
Who mentioned Sam? Don't mention the war.
-
First game Keegan's been to in 3 *yes yes, bar last night

Usually resulting in a free-kick/penalty Hopeless fucker. aye, true enough like.

maybe this is where Wes Brown could be involved? I think Wes Brown has a lot to recommend him as a target, but all of that is undermined by the fact that he has played his entire career under Fergie at Man U. Being honest I think most players we get in will be motivated by and have respect for KK. The exception would be any players coming from Old Trafford. Like it or not Keegan's name is a byword for amateurism in that neck of the woods. For that reason it represents an unacceptable gamble.
