I do hope we sign some decent players soon. The more other teams sign decent players, the worse it feels when we do nothing and the window slips by. That's when I worry about a last minute panic buy (who will turn out to be shit), or nobody being bought at all.

According to Pardew all JFK does is take the list Pardew and Carr come up with and present it to Fat Ash. Presumably he requires all of his "35 years" as a manager to explain the intricacies of why we need those players and what position they play. Then Charnley goes off and tries to sign them. If that's all JFK actually does, then if he's already presented the list there's no reason why he can't go on holiday. In fact he doesn't really need to come back from holiday until the next transfer window opens in January, when he'll once again be called upon to collect and present the list. What a fucking load of shit, I'd love a job like that.

Somehow I think we're stuck with him unless he gets a megatastic offer. Which seems unlikely.

It's certainly a strange decision unless you think he's surplus to requirements or we're going to bring in someone better. To me the only thing that makes sense is that they think he's shit in defense and not needed in midfield

You're confusing pivotal with present. Both those players are utterly mediocre, and pretending otherwise is a bit silly. And besides the point.

I think the big question is whether we actually still need him. Plainly last season we did (as a midfielder), but perhaps Bigi can step into his shoes this season.

Is there any evidence that Shane can consistently produce the goods? Or is it because he's not Jonas?

My biggest worry is that JFK has talked himself into a job on the basis of his "success" (in his own mind) at unearthing gems from the lower leagues. This could translate into a raft of Leon Best and Ryan Taylor type signings, players who aren't and never will be good enough to take us up the table. Frightening from a man who seems totally out of touch with the modern game in England and abroad.

Unfortunately JFK won't have heard of any half decent premier league player and therefore won't speak to them. I wish I was joking.

A season on loan would be best for him. Cant see him being more than a sub.
