Shittest goal celebration in the history of the Prem, FACT -

That reminded me of the classic lyric from "Don't Stand So Close to Me": It's no use, he sees her He starts to shake and cough Just like the old man in That book by Nabakov "That book by Nabakov"? Fucking hell Sting!

Obertan: Earths' gravity is no match for him.

Just watched the game. Thought Obertan was adequate - some good moments, a couple of good crosses, better application tackling back etc - altogether an improvement on previous efforts. Not as shite as usual and glimpses of a canny player there - imo if he carries on improving he could become a good player. If that's as good as he gets then we could do better imo -
It possibly won't surprise you the answer is no Mr Fist

"And fiery demons all dance when you walk through that door. Don't say you're easy on me, you're about as easy as a nuclear war." A classic nugget from Duran Duran that sticks in the memory

"So Sally can wait, she knows it's too late As we're walking on by" See above re use of names to pad out the lyrics But also from the same song "Stand up beside the fireplace Take that look from off your face" These lines probably started life as "Stand beside the fireplace, take that look off your face" until he discovered they didn't fit the song. Easily fixed, never mind it's become doggerel.....

Anything that relies on names to make a rhyme. Like this corker from my youth (Kenny Loggins/Footloose) Loose, footloose kick off your Sunday shoes Please, Louise pull me off a my knees Jack, get back c'mon before we crack Lose your blues everybody cut footloose or WIngs' band on the run Well, the rain exploded with a mighty crash as we fell into the sun, And the first one said to the second one there I hope you're having fun. Band on the run, band on the run. And the jailer man and sailor sam were searching every one

Dunno what prompted the clash but to me it makes sense if Ferdinand accused him of something. Cue sarcastic response with abuse on the end ie Ferdinand "You fucking fouled me you cheating cunt" Terry "Yeah yeah like I fucking fouled you, you black cunt. Fucking nobhead". All complete speculation of course.

To be honest, watching it again and reading some of the comments on the youtube link - the first comment claims he's saying "Haha yeah I called you a black cunt, you fucking knobhead" - I started to wonder whether it wasn't him being sarcy and basically denying it. But I keep coming back to the belief that if you really thought that was what was going on, you'd be running after the lad going "Are you serious? You think that's what I said?!", not calling him a knobhead for thinking it had happened. Now if you HAD called him it, and there was no point in you chasing him to try and plead your innocence cos you both KNEW you'd done it, and you were trying to rubbish what the lad had claimed, THEN you'd do the "Haha..." sarcy bit. SO! The prosecution case is this: Either you were calling him a black cunt in the footage OR You were trying to sarcastically rubbish what Ferdinand said, knowing that second earlier you'd called him it. Either way you are a guilty man. What say ye, John Terry? I just don't think he'd go for sarcasm delivered with a menacing smile in that instance but I've no way of proving it. I think he'd be far more likely to say "Fuck off I never called you that" => indignant response

Oh aye I agree with you that Ashley would have waded in there if Terry was innocent. That doesn't mean Terry might not pressure him if he didn't hear it like that.... "Ashley, you know I never said them fings. You know I'd never say somefink like that. How long have we been mates? You know that's not me. You won't let me down, will ya?" etc

With Squidward and Jonas providing the bullets? Well Ba has been banging them in with those guys, and mostly had Leon Best as a partner, see no reason for him to stop. Though I think Ryan Taylor is ahead of Obertan in the pecking order now. Whether Pardew will go for him or Benny on the wing remains to be seen. I expect the 2 strikers to combine very well if Cisse lives up to his reputation. I hope you're right. Although the Dembas play together for Senegal, most new players take a bit of time to gel. Papiss is joining a new team, playing in a new league and living in a new country. SoI don't think we should expect too much too soon and I don't think Pardieu will start him, as Chez has predicted

I think the FA have to hold back on this one / are in a difficult position due to the legal case. I'm not one to defend the FA under normal circumstances either. I agree with you there Parky, its not their own in house investigation or process which can make it awkward for them still, don't think we should be going to a major tournament with a captain (or player at all) with a criminal trial hanging over their head Are Alex and Parky one and the same?
-
Thanks for posting the footage, Gem. I agree with you. Everything about Terry's body language and expression is abusive, there's no way he's putting Ferdinand straight. As Alex said, someone's probably watched the footage carefully and concocted a defence. As I said before, this sort of thing is bang on character for Terry who strikes me as a nasty piece of work.

Ashley Cole is in the foreground and passes in front of Terry just prior to the "fucking black bastard" bit. So, my take is, he (or rather his advisors) have taken this opportunity to make up some words that preceded the offending ones in order to try and get him off. Aha. To my mind this would require Cole to support this version of events to be credible, which is Gem's point. Possibly an interesting dilemma for Cole if Terry is guilty....support a teammate or refuse to help a racist.....

With Squidward and Jonas providing the bullets?

If he's not telling the truth the footage won't support it. It's probably not too bright to embellish the story in this way if there's good quality footage of the incident and the events leading up to it Edit: I should add I haven't actually seen the incident, so don't know if this is the case

Yes it probably explains a lot.....

I happened to be watching the game it happened in, camera had focused on Terry and I have no doubt he said "f'in black bastard" (I remember being taken aback at the time). He's saying he'd prefaced that with "I never called you a..." Well all I saw was the second bit and it was spat out with that trademarkTerry venomous look on his face, doesn't fit at all. Guilty as sin IMO. Everything I've ever read about Terry in private life paints him as a nasty piece of work. No doubt he can buy the best representation but he might be about to meet his Waterloo here

My only prediction from the OP was this.... Perhaps one should read posts properly before running to judge Or perhaps I shouldn't bother reading your posts at all

We'd have to get back to the form of the first 11 games. Can't see it. Cisse and Ba partnership, Marveaux coming back, Obertan a changed man, Ben Arfa????? Jeez
