It'd be like getting 7 mill when you take into account the wages he'd cost us next season. Could we be so lucky?
-
Best outcome for everybody.
-
Of course. But there's nothing to suggest we're after him or that he'd be interested in coming to us, is there? I can't recall a single report linking us with Sturridge in fact, and you'd expect Bolton would be in pole position anyway if he was going to leave Chelsea. I know but I still think he would be a really good signing for us. You never know could be another Marveaux True. But I don't see where the link in the article came from, it looks the kind of thing a lazy journo invents to make a piece more interesting. I'd be delighted to be proved wrong.

Also linked with Villa for 3 million

I don't recall a tabloid randomly sticking him at the end of an article about transfers either.

In that case CT, im jumping on your bandwagon, go team positive!! Just make sure youre there to save your followers from the wrath of those who predicted doom, if that is the case next season. A wise move Harry, I have a feeling we will be getting very full. Fucking hell, man! Did you do that yourself?

Is he good though? What's his fm rating?
-
He's obviously after more money. Nick will be fuming.

And it's not as if Dave ever reads these pages. Oh wait....
-
Deary me. Embarrassing.

I doubt we'd have signed him if his groin was still fucked. I think the Chronicle claimed he passed the medical at both Liverpool and ourselves. Mind you I think they were just basing that on what he said..... It went through very quickly so you have to wonder how stringent the medical was. I don't believe he passed the medical at Liverpool or why would he be here? True, it does seem suspicious
-
Different player, isn't he? If I was going to rationalise it, I'd say Ba has shown he can manage his knee issues and still turn out on a regular basis. Plus he's signed on an appearance based contract. But what the fuck do I know, they could both be complete crocks and the club doesn't have a clue.

I doubt he's a toon fan. Anyone who says "Up the Toon" sounds like a mole sent from Sky Sports. "Why aye lads, what you think of these latest signings? They sound ever so canny to me, Up The Toon, M'on the Magpies, Big Up the Barcodes" Exactly. Howay the chaps everybody!

Surplus to requirements obviously.

I doubt he's a toon fan.

But, but.. that's just a statement of fact!

or nothing to do with football?

Ok Sunderland fans are deluded. There we go. Same foundations. Heard nowt on Colo tbh. Talksport and BBC* reporting it. Would be a big loss for you's judging by your own opinions of him. *allegedly I'd be more impressed by the BBC than Talksport. Would be a big loss imo if we did sell him, and probably motivated more by his wages than his ability as Tom says. Nice that you're taking such a keen interest in us by the way Alway's nice to see your rivals selling who they themselves regard as their best players, I'm sure you'll agree. Really? I think you're speculating at the moment, but you're obviously hanging on every bit of gossip about us.

They don't like, although depends if your talking gross (yes they do) or net (no they don't, by a distance). Their gross spend over the last 20 years (£360Mill) averages at £18Mill per year, the Net averages only £4Mill a year, over the same 20 years (£80Mill total). 20 years ago the world record transfer fee was £8m. Why not go back to 1950, you can get the average down to a few grand. Of course 8 mill was worth more 20 years ago than it is today....not sure what the relative worth of 8 mill today would be..... Not just a case of inflation though. The world record now is more than ten times what it was then. £8m might be worth double if you spend it on petrol, but on strikers It's gone through the roof. What's arsenals average over 5 years? I wasn't suggesting it was just a case of inflation though. I was just saying it makes sense to compare like with like, in the interest of balance

Fair enough but I'd like to see us use the money to strengthen the squad further. Also there may be further departures.
