  1. Well, I'm very optimistic about Ba. A little more cautious about Marveaux. But as you imply, Up the Toon! "Up the Toon"? Fucking hell
  2. Completely disagree with this.
  3. I never said money wasn't important. I'm sure Rooney is happy with his riches, he has worked hard to be a top footballer. But his heart doesn't play for Man United, anyone who thinks that is talking shite. Only one tit on this board obsessed with money mate. Who's the spudheed in your pic? Re. Marveaux, good to see incoming early in the transfer window. Since I know less than CT about Wor Sylvain, I'll not get "over tired" just yet. il est impossible! D'accord. très bonne espérons que votre nettoyage des vitres se passe bien aujourd'hui Fucking hell

Andy it's nothing personal I just don't believe your itk. Everything we hear coming out of the club says high wages are a thing of the past. One of the reasons players like Barton and Nolan won't sign new contracts.

70k is bullshit mate. If he's chosen NUFC over EFC on wages alone it's because you're lowballing. We just don't pay wages like this anymore, it's why we're pushing out the biggest wage earners. It's well documented that we're being tight on wages and transfer fees. Much like yourselves in fact. Could be right mind, they could be aggregating fee and wages so £70/week is only (only !!!) £13Mill over 3 years, just like paying £5Mill for someone and paying them £35K a week (ish) over 3 years (for example). Could be right could be wrong. Personally I don't believe it. The whole attraction of a free transfer is saving the transfer fee and I don't believe they would set a precedent of a player on 70k a week. It's all speculation obviously but to me it's a classic whinge to say someone's just chasing the biggest pay packet.
  9. This Spector fella looks a bit old. Hair like Collocini too.
  10. What I consider to be horse shit is when a whole fan base can jump for joy collectively when someone sad but rich decides they need an ego-massage and buy the club. However, as Chelsea fans have proved, the ridiculous happiness wares off after less than a decade. It's always been that way though Nick, the most successful clubs have also tended to be the richest. There's just a bigger gulf between rich and poor now and the only way to bridge the gap is with a gazillionaire owner.
  11. Indeed. Nick should go and support a lower league club, he'll be considerably happier and so will we.
  12. I agree with you NJS in the sense that we can't expect a big spend up in today's climate. But I also sympathise with Leazes' stance that we should at least be capable of competing with the clubs outside the top 5 or 6. I'm all for steady improvement but I find it impossible to glean from what's going on what Ashley is up to and whether this is the aim. The suspicion remains he's going to fuck it all up by selling our best players to make a buck. That's why I'm reserving judgement till the end of the transfer window. I don't expect him to recklessly tip his money into the club. I do expect us to sign more signings of the quality of Cabaye before the window shuts and have a decent squad for the season. Part of that for me is having a decent core of senior professionals to set the right tone and I don't include Shola in that. I haven't seen any evidence of the Carroll money being spent yet which for me was the minimum to be expected. However that may change in the weeks ahead.
  13. So, has Gejon consumed his testicles yet?
  14. I assume you're talking about NO? I haven't been on there in ages and I logged in OK just now. Did you use the .org suffix rather than .com?

  16. That wasn't the case with Nolan. How would you know? It is documented by the club, Nolan's agent and the press that he was offered a new contract. That basically is the uncontrevertible truth. Of course a decision has been made to accept the 4.5m offer because Nolan and his agent made a decison (documented everywhere) not to accept the contract. Baffling how people dont understand this process, its not that complicated. I guess it depends on whether he was in fact offered a good contract. An alternative scenario is that he's offered a piece of shit and told to take it or leave it.
  17. Yes, but to tell the truth I was suckered by the scientific bullshit too until we had the misfortune to appoint him. I really feel sorry for Rex and the anti-football stop-em-playing-and-lunk-it-up-to-the-big-lad "tactics" he's got to come. It was hard to watch the toon in those days and that was just sitting through the highlights, God knows what it was like to go to the match. It was painfully apparent he was out of his depth and I honestly thought he would get us relegated, the hippo headed twat.
  18. Im sorry, but if Barton after 1 good year in 4 should have snapped the contract up in January and put a bit of this much talked about loyalty back into the people who had paid his wages while in Jail / fucked etc. Yes, because that's just how the football world works. I sympathise with the sentiment but in reality players want the most money going regardless of how they've performed and I would too in their position. It's not as if most of them are good at anything else and they're finished by the time they're 35 if they're lucky.
  19. Barton will get it after his tweets, just not the captaincy. I wouldn't be surprised if they take a cut price offer to move him on, just to shut his mouth and get his wages off the bill. Hard to see the Fenham Pele getting the captaincy as he's rarely fit. I bet Pardoo hasn't got a clue who will be in his squad on 1 August, I'd bet my house he wasn't consulted on Nolan's transfer and probably won't be on any other outgoings either. It seems to me he's just a coach but he's desperate to sound like a real manager in the press.
  20. What goes around, comes around. I found it strange he went there in the first place.
