I saw some people saying that was a good call? Did I miss something? There was a SA defender on the goal line, how was Vela not onside when he scored? I had pegged this game at 2-1 Mex, only that awful decision robbed me. Next game, 2-0 to our cher cousines, I imagine.

American-style global event coverage. Bongo Bongoland? Classy.

The US press have been giving it pretty big as of late and they reckon they have a chance on Saturday. I think they are in for a pretty significant shock and I think we will defeat them soundly - and this coming from someone who doesn't rate England's chances in this year's WC highly at all. Like other countries where the majority of their squads play abroad, the USA have significant cohesion problems and are prone to a lot of individualism. They don't work particularly well as a unit, have no reliable strikers, and I think all the signs are there for a collapse. If the other teams in our group were halfway decent - South Korea, Cameroon, that sort of level - I'd doubt USA's qualification chances, but as it is I think they'll manage to beat both Algeria and Slovenia.

Feilhaber is gutless and useless. He haven't set anything alight in Denmark, apart from his club getting relegated Played for Derby in 2007-2008 didn't he? Seems like he's another relegation specialist.

I'd have taken Bent instead of Heskey, that plodder. Probably would've taken Baines instead of 1-cap Warnock. Sad to see Adam Johnson go home but in truth he probably wasn't ready.
-
So Leeds rejected some money from us to flog him in January but let him go for free in June. He didn't contribute much in the second half of the season iirc?
-
it it were down to me, Heskey's miss confirms he is inferior to Crouch and puts him on the plane home but it didn't need confirming to me anyway. Huddlestone should never have got anywhere near an England cap in the first place. He should go home and will prob be joined by Scott Parker. Given a choice between Walcott, Lennon and Wright Phillips, I would send Walcott home. Dawson will go home. So will Upson. The other place is anybodys guess Agreed with all of this. I'd send Lennon home too if I were Capello, useless waster. With SWP and Milner to contend for the right mid place, I'm not bothered about not having the one-trick pony of one-trick ponies to call on.

You should've broken out the "he was here long before you..." line.

Spain for me I'd say.

Fucking hell. Was this the idea of our new media advisor? Can't these clowns keep their traps shut? I thought there weren't going to be any more statements? Cringeworthy.

We're talking about Qatar here. Financially doable to the Western world is pocket change to them, especially when that money is spent on raising the profile of their country.

Good work mate. I take pride in my work But seriously, the place was owned by a crackpot, a fat Greek bastard who owned two restaurants on the same street - one a greasy dive that's been open for 48 years, standard American/Greek diner food, the other a more upscale Mediterranean place (the one where I worked.) Over time, he increasingly tried to turn his classy place into a diner (on the reasoning that the diner was making more money and doing better in general.) Needless to say, there was a negative correlation between "dinerhood" and "customer base" and he can hardly pay the rent for the formerly classy bistro-style place any longer. I never cease to be amazed when I think about how effectively he transformed an upscale bistro with great food, a good wine list, tasteful decor, professional wait staff, a head chef and menu planner, etc etc into a shitty chipped-table dusty-fake-grapes dump with awful service - people who honestly couldn't even carry a plate properly - high prices, a terrible bunch of Mexican primadonnas running the kitchen, etc etc. The Mike Ashley of New York restaurants.

Got nothing to add to the thread like but I got a kick out of Acid calling his place of employment a "brassiere." Those women's underthings can be tricky sometimes lad but keep at it I did 9 years at a restaurant, started out class and had turned into an utter shithole by the time I left. Very stressful work.

Feeble penalty, unbelievable free kick, should be game over now.

Nile Ranger to go out on loan next season....

Well if you're worried then we're truly fucked. -
Lovenkrands missed out for Denmark. That's a shame if you ask me.

In the calm, light of day 24 hours later, is it really...

B'ham, Blackburn, Stoke and Fulham are a lot stronger than they used to be? Great! Now instead of only having 8 hidings a year off the big four, we get to have 16! Then there's Villa, City, Everton and Spurs.... -
I'd drop Walcott before Johnson like, he's been cracking every time I've seen him and Walcott's been the opposite. I hope Heskey is not on the plane. Seriously past it imo. Pleased with that in general.

They've done this sort of thing before, like when they announced the stuff about the stadium renaming in order to deflect attention away from other things (can't even quite remember what it was at the time). Wasn't it just after the KK tribunal? It was but also at the same time they took the club off the market and appointed Hughton. When did the bit in bold happen??? The lawsuit was settled while KK was working as a pundit for ESPN, and his fellow pundits asked him about his prospects. He said he was ready to go back to management but probably not with NUFC because (as above), the fans had 'had enough' of him but he also said 'anything can happen in football.'

Aye or.... 1. The board would like to set on record that Mike is indeed a fat cunt, who got lucky early in his life, and couldn't spell obese without using an a till 1994 the thick cunt. 2. The board would like to acknowledge that whilst not only looking like a child molester, Derek Llambias is fully advocates the assertion he is an arsehole and someone with worse communication skills than Steve Hawking when the battery runs out. 3. Will some fuckin arab buy us out for fuck sake. 4. Even a yank, or FFS would do. :( About the only thing worth laughing at in this thread. Once again we've been properly fucked about and no mistake.
-
"Doom mongers" my arse. Plain as the nose on your face this was going to happen and anyone who denied it was living in cloud cuckoo land. What a pair of utter, utter cockends. Credibility as a 5-year goal? We lost every fucking shred of it the day this fat bastard and his stooge showed up on our doorstep!

Newcastle fans don't support their team as they should
acrossthepond replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Played for the draw away to the worst team in PL history. Nothing else needs to be said really. Worthless fat shite who would've sent us down given long enough; it's no wonder we wanted rid of him. -
Obvious parallels can be drawn between CT coming onto a NUFC board to preach that Ashley is the man of the hour, the promise, the stability etc and coming onto a board dominated by North East liberals to preach that Cameron is the same (and, let's not forget, to tell the current denizens of the board that they are ignorants who don't know their own club/their own party well enough to see the 'truth' in what he's saying.) Half delusion and half wummery I think. Either way he's a complete loon.

It truly boggles the mind that anyone old enough to remember the devastation Maggie wrought in the North East could ever be pleased at the prospect of the Tories returning to power.
