You just got done telling us it was a blip! http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=727701 Can you not stick to a position for longer than 5 minutes (besides "I love Mike" and "Chris is great")? Seems like you've got your constants but you'll argue black is white on anything else and come back the next week to do the reverse. Contrary doesn't begin to cover you. Hey Hey its stalker man! Your weekly hour on the prison PC I take it. Come on, have a go this week and tell us your opinion for a change. My opinion hasn't changed. Fat Mike will try to scrape by again, just like he did in Jan 2009. He'll give Hughton 8-10mil to spend, we'll aim for 17th and we'll get relegated. Again. And it'll be his fault. Again. If we want to progress, we need to survive. And if we want to survive, we need to compete. Look at Birmingham's spend and look at Burnley's spend. Pretty obvious difference there, right? And a pretty obvious difference in their league position too. And if we want to compete, we need to spend proper money. Nothing less than 20mil - if we keep the current squad minus deadwood - will do, and if we sell any key players it'll need to be more than that. I'm a "doom monger" because I don't think Fat Mike will open up the chequebook to the tune of 20mil when he wouldn't spend 10 to keep us up in 2009. I don't call that a doom monger, call that someone who has two fucking brain cells to rub together.

Always seems to be Nolan who pops up with the goals when we're playing like shit. Good signing by Fat Mike for a season in the Championship if you ask me. Excellent planning like.

Oh are you starting to believe at long last? IM stilll resisting......just., However I g find these comments very worrying. Every man and his fog realises Ashley needs to take this opportunity. If he fucks this up then fuck him That'll last for what, 5 minutes?
-
Unbelievable he didn't walk for that. That cheating scum.
-
I don't. After how they carried on last season I'd rather Niall Quinn came on here to congratulate us. I used to feel some sort of affection for them but now I've got absolutely no time for that club, from nothing they came and to nothing they shall return after O'Neill walks and I can't wait.

I like their sponsor, all of their players will be needing that site soon.

If relegation was, as you say, just a blip, then why would we want an open top parade? Surely parades are for something you want to celebrate. Why would we celebrate the correction of a blip? There should be nothing to commemorate promotion and nothing more than a perfunctory party to celebrate winning the title. We are only back where we started, after all.
-
Love to see them go up. That'd be one relegation spot done and dusted. We'll need all the help we can get. Anyway, we'll beat them 2-1.

Of your categories where would Alex fit in? Something acrossthepond said as well about certain posters coming and being accepted straight away. Well there's a lot who aren't, more than three year I've been on, and certain hardcore polit bureau members would wish I would fuck off. Luckily Yeltsin and Gorby are onside these days though . Alex is Malfoy, keep up. He's CT's arch nemesis. He's the Grand Poobah, the Ayatullah, the Godfather. And he has disciples. Like Louis XIV, he is the board. @Gemmill: Sure, I thought Martins was good. Pretty sure I wasn't alone in that. No, what really got your goat was that I said I'd rather have Le Sib than Owen.

CT/Phil alex/Jonny2J Parky/voices in his head Stevie/Leazes Leazes/AvatarAxeman/Toonpack (General Chat alliance only) peasepud/Scottish Mag although he's never on lately, shame. Then there's the group of people who like to bait Leazes (mostly the same who used to bait Fop, manc-mag chief among them). There's plainly an elite on this board who've been here forever, but I don't agree with HTT's comments. The amount of stick I got when I first started posting here was immense (magness which I still believe in btw) but levelled off over time. Same happens to many new members. Then there are others like Jon H, OzToonFan, Nyff/Revolver who were accepted from the start. Basically if you don't come on here and start talking shite (for example, "jab" who started spouting pro-Ashley stuff from minute 1) this board is an enjoyable place. It's got its WUMs and nutters but it's full of good posters.

Ashley to allow spending spree in summer
acrossthepond replied to loonyTOON's topic in Newcastle Forum
Spot on, the mistake made by past managers/past boards was offering long contracts on ridiculous wages. Case in point - Geremi, three year deal on 60k, he played regularly (and abysmally) for half a season then stuck around for another two years picking up a wage that no other team would go near matching. That's fucking bonkers!! Another Fat Sam special. -
I'm going to throw Willie McKay and JFK out there too. For all I hate Owen, I don't hold him accountable for the decline of the club. I do hold him accountable for being a useless waster who trousered our money and gave us fuck all, but that's a different story. McKay has basically been a parasite on this club for years and the amount of dross we've been peddled by him and deals we've done to satisfy him doesn't bear thinking about. Of course you blame the administration for allowing it, but I point the finger at him too. And JFK helped to make us a laughingstock and helped to send us down. Literally any one of the managers who talked about wanting to manage NUFC after KK left could've kept us up. We had people like Zico, Fatih Terim, etc. coming out and saying they wanted the job - and instead we got him.

Ashley to allow spending spree in summer

so who do we reckon we should be going for, whos under 26 from these clubs?? (oh and cheap as well) If O'Hara and Hutton are true as rumoured, those would be good buys. And of course I'd like to get Beye back on a 1-year contract. I'd also want to be looking into these players: Chris Brunt (West Brom), Sigurdsson (Reading), Stephen Fletcher (Burnley), Stephen Hunt (Hull), Kamil Zayatte (Hull), Kevin-Prince Boateng (Portsmouth), Belhadj (Portsmouth), Behrami (West Ham). From either teams that are down or look to be going down, they shouldn't be too extravagant. -
Ashley to allow spending spree in summer

It's strange how only a few people think like this - I was just sayiing last week that if someone gave me £900m I'd give NUFC at least half of it, possibly more and was looked at as if I was an Alien. The response was that you should enjoy your wealth which seemed to involve investing it and checking to see whether it grows rather than spending it - madness. On the "spree" if someone wants to do an N-O style how much will the net spend be in the summer poll, I'll vote for less than zero - especially if Guttirez has a decent world cup. He will play for us next season i reckon. Just cant see where else he would go. And will people stop going on about him having a decent world cup, he'll be playing in the same side as Messi, no one will notice him. I know I'm being a little contrary here, but Messi did sweet fuck all for Argentina in their qualifying campaign. It seems he doesn't really fit well with whatever crackpot system Maradona has cooked up. I think Jonas could easily be sold. There are plenty of Spanish clubs that would take him I think, same for Coloccini. -
Yes, because there was such a massive clamour for Shearer to be given the job instead of JFK. We were absolutely howling in the streets for it. Were we fuck. It came out of nowhere just like KK's appointment, but we get blamed for wanting both of them in. Not saying I wasn't happy with both of them at the time of course. Here we go again...

25mil well spent would see us safe. Hell, 15mil well spent would do it. Seeing is believing though.

Trophy signing.

Welcome back to the Premier League, Newcastle
acrossthepond replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
ATP says, take your welcome and shove it up your arse sideways, Sportsmail, you condescending pack of shiteaters. "Delusions of grandeur" "tilts at the title"...will it never end? That's something I will miss about the Championship, not having to listen to that trash. -
They need something to sell to charvas.

Lots of steroid and growth hormone abuse I think. It's a very gruelling schedule they play mind, something like 162 regular season games, not that that is any excuse of course. The number of games is just amazing. They're on at different times as well, so sometimes there'll be a game at 2pm on a Tuesday afternoon, how is the average working man supposed to get to that game??? Do people have season tickets even though they know they'll miss a load of games? I think it's a really good sport. I've only been to one (Yankee) game but I really enjoyed it. The day games are almost always on weekends. They play a staggering amount of games, but t for most of the 3 hours or so most of the players are either sitting on the bench or standing in the outfield doing nothing. Same deal with basketball - the constant substitutions mean that any one player is not playing all-action for 3 hours at a stretch and then being expected to go and do it again tomorrow and the next day. Interesting enough sport that's seen a lot of change even in the years I've been over here but I've got no time to watch a 3-hour game that's mostly waiting, a few spurts of action, and shite American commentators jawing on about statistics. Going in person is even worse for the prices the Yankees (my local team considering I live in the Bronx) want. I'd rather pay $20 and go see Red Bull NY.

It's ours to lose and I don't think we will.

Brilliant goal, brilliant win. We recovered well from their fairly soft goal and did the business as it needed done. Jonas was fantastic, if only that shot had gone in it might well have been goal of the season. Routledge had an off night but was still ok - funny how that seems to work, when one of them's on the other one's no good. Nolan anonymous until his goal again but what a goal! The defence looked sound as well. Good performance all around.

I don't think we've kicked a decent ball all season so that's quite appropriate. I'm usually an optimist but unless we're sold I see absolutely no reason to celebrate. The typical delusion of the average geordie. Why the fuck can you not understand newcastle will not be sold in the near future, no rich arab is going to come in and throw the manager £100mil. Something that some fans need to understand. We have to get on with it the best way we can. Sold or not sold there's nothing to celebrate here you plank. We are where we started. If you want to celebrate that, go on, but the work is only half done for me.

Aye praise be to Keegan!! Thanks King Kev for getting us promoted WE ARE GEORDIES, SUPER GEORDIES, SHIT STANDARD OF CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL AND OUR MOSTLY PREMIER LEAGUE SQUAD IS OUR KING!
