  1. Yes. There should be a "Brown Lads" group as well for me and Bawan and...well, just me and Bawan. Funny, that. Vimalraja, maybe?
  2. Creationism isn't being taught 'all over the US'. It has caught on in some areas, but in most of the country, it is still not included in the curriculum. There is an increasing propensity to give a nod to the 'evolution is just a theory' claptrap. So while few schools will actually talk about creationism, many attempt to intimate that it's a possibility. I have no idea what is taught in "Muslim Faith schools". I doubt it is creationism. Despite the myriad faults of conservative Islam, one of its plusses is that it does not reject what Westerners consider 'science.' Remember, much of the scientific tradition as we know it originated in the Muslim world. @Happy Face: You already know what I'm going to say. You're a bright fellow and I'm sure you are aware of the standard counter-argument to what you are asking.
  3. Can't tell if I'm part of the "Yank Five" or the "Terrorist Sympathisers." Is dual citizenship possible?
  4. That's fair enough. But how do you define the bolded? If it's stuff like what The Fish is talking about, well, I'm a schoolteacher myself and rest assured I want religion to have no part in schools or government.
  5. "If Campbell's still playing, why can't Shearer put his boots on? I'd rather see him on the pitch than chatting bollocks on the telly. Shearer was a good player, but he's shit on the telly. The guy's as thick as pig shit, that's why Newcastle went down. He can't read, never mind manage." FYP. Now do us a favour, yeah? (p.s. He had a career-ending injury, or doesn't your memory go that far back?)
  6. I see I'm in the large minority here, which is definitely not the case in the USA. Of course, as a Muslim I believe in one God who is eternal and who created the universe, and I believe in his prophets from the OT through to Muhammad (pbuh.) I believe that he impacts our lives, although probably not in ways that we can discern, and that we have free will, but God also has a design for us and it's up to us to make the choices that will hopefully lead us down the right path. And I think that path is just to live as an upright human being, acting with compassion and fairness, treating other human beings with love and respect. Which is what most if not all religions preach. Past that, when we get into organized religion (hasn't really existed in Sunni Islam since the 8th century, although there are plenty of fanatics who would tell you otherwise) and the like, I want no part of it. Every person's individual relationship with/belief or disbelief in God is their own business. I abhor the militant atheists who try to 'disprove' God as much as the evangelicals of any religion who try to 'prove' him and moreover to 'prove' that you need him/are saying the wrong words to worship him/etc.
  7. Forgot Gosling I think. Ben Arfa please. And keep Ranger, sell Xisco.
  8. Mensah, ah yes, isn't that the dopey mackem who thought he could take a penalty in the world cup quarter-finals without any run-up? I'd say he's the thickest of a thick lot (not counting your good self, of course) but now that you've got Bramble there's competition for the title.
  9. 'But somehow Andy Carroll got into the side' May have been because you were injured as always, you donkey.
  10. Sounds like a good move, nothing but praise for him in the Championship last season. I'd be ok with loaning out Kazenga and Forster, even Ranger, but I want to hang on to Kadar as we might need him.
  11. I'm sure this is from somewhere else, as are all of soccernet's news items, but since I don't see it on the BBC: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...ers&cc=5901
  12. Still don't understand why people on this board talk about Barton as though he were any good. What's he done in black and white? "Our best player" - that's a laugh.
  13. I think the really telling point here is when Stevie/Gordon said that 3 years ago he'd have said about Milner all that you've said about Gosling. When Milner went we were happy to see him go (mainly because we were getting a major fee, although it was never to be re-invested) and we said he wasn't good enough, lacked end product, not fast enough, etc etc etc. Now he's played for England in the WC, won the Players' Young Player, and is going to move to Man City for mega money. Time will tell. How about we see Gosling play in a few games in black and white before we rush to conclusions on either side?
  14. And you wonder why a lot of the country think the Geordie faithful to be massively deluded? You think at the moment Newcastle are a higher profile club than Everton?!! WTF?!!!!! You say that we dont have the infrastructure to suceed in the modern game, but Newcastle do? How about you make these statements in 5 years time once/if Ashley has left and your team have not only managed to stay in the premier league but then built upon that and advanced to such a stage that you are regularly finishing above Everton. "If the club is run right" ... Fuck me when has it EVER been run correctly?!! If its "making bold statements day" i'll throw my 2 pence worth in and say that "IF" Everton were bought out by a man with a decent amount of money and could afford to build us a new stadium Newcastle would NEVER be able to hold a candle to Everton! Our "infrastructure" in terms of little debt and and excellent squad means that we are already light years ahead of you on the pitch! Put in our history and heritage and you can quite frankly feck off lol! No offence to the more grounded supporters on here, but this guy is on some seriously mind warping drugs if he actually believes what he wrote lol! It's just Stevie man, he'd say we're better than Inter. But actually I agree that we are a higher profile club. The media focuses much more on us than on Everton. I realise that's because we are a soap opera/laughingstock, but that doesn't change the truth of what he said.
  15. Very pleased with this signing. We still need more quality in midfield though.
  16. He had a purple patch at the start of 07-08, scored 12 I think. He only scored 17 or 19 for Portsmouth in 70 games at the club, so that tells you about his scoring rate apart from those few months. Trash, always has been, I would like to think we wouldn't touch him.

    Kevin

Obviously just trolling now, I'd say give him the hoof. Not that I'm a big proponent of banning annoying twunts or anything.
  18. Didn't look like this thread was about Liverpool v. Newcastle until you happened along, did it?
  19. So, no answer to anything I said. Go watch some hockey indeed because you're clueless about this sport.
  20. Can only hope he keeps it together off the pitch.
  21. No it wasn't derailed at all. I just said that signing Sol Campbell was another sign of fallen standards. No that isn't "just" what you said though, is it Leazes? Are you saying Craig Moore is a better player than Campbell? If not, then how is it a sign of falling standards? who have we bought to the club who is better than those sold that I have named ? Are you going to take my bet or not ? You're offering me a bet that suggests I believe something that I clearly don't believe in. Your stupidity really has no limits. Ashley has signed Enrique for £6m, Colo for £10m. Widely accepted that these two are probably two of the best defenders we've had at the club since Bassong, who Ashley also signed. I don't think I could name 3 better defenders play for us in the entire period from when Keegan left the first time till the time Shepherd left. It's widely accepted by whom? Colo is gash. Have I missed something? People who go to the games Talking a load of shit again, Thompers? Not like you. Listen to you too. "One of the best defenders we've had at the club since Bassong." Oh, you mean one of the best defenders we've signed since summer 2008? Well, we've signed Williamson, Fitz Hall on loan, Danny Simpson, and James Perch since then, so aye, I agree that Colo is one of the best of them. Not exactly exalted company, like. "Ashley has signed Enrique, Colo and Bassong." Funny, I didn't realise that Ashley was now in the transfer negotiation process as well. He's a man of many talents. I don't think Colo is worth 10 million pounds and I don't think you have a very long memory if you don't remember how fucking terrible he was in 2008-2009. Aye, he looked class in the second division but I could name a hundred other players who looked good after getting relegated.

  23. Happened to me. I was Fulham, was taken over, the new chairman said to be patient, I won all three of my next games and the 3rd one was a UEFA cup game against Hibs where I beat them 7-1 at home and I still got replaced. That was FM08 so maybe in 2010 it doesn't happen.
  24. Nolan for me. He was captain of Bolton and hopefully he has got his drive back. I truly hope Smith won't be in the team (although of course we all know he will be), Harper is my second choice, and Taylor being captain would be a joke.
  25. Now I can go and see him for under $25. Yay?
