Sorry Parky, in Germany (Hamburg specifically) in 2008. Why Hamburg? Great place to be in Germany and for a quick change of scene only 1 1/2 by train from Berlin. Why Hamburg? Because when we were in Germany last year it was just one of those places that struck a cord and we really loved the place. I have an opportunity next year to produce a documentary based out of Germany (no funding though as it is a joint project with a friend who has MS) but the opportunity is to good to pass up, so we, the lass and I decided to base ourselves in Hamburg. Should be interesting for us to dumb 'stralians who have never experienced a winter (with the exception of ski/boarding) with an average temperature lower than 9C! At the moment our biggest dilemma is deciding between going to watch St Pauli or Hamburg

Glad to see there is no bias in your opinion Steve. Although I also suffer the same afliction as Steve, I have nee bias to 'stralian players. That being said I'd be happy to see Emerton as our new RB and Lucas Neill brought in on the cheap as West Ham returns to the fizzy pop league and his contact get out clause is activated. We could do far worse than build a backline involving those two (except during WC qualification time). If Lucas Neill's West Ham wages are to be believed, I don't want him here. We'll only end up paying him way over the odds - isn't he supposed to be on something like £65k a week at West Ham? But of course the wages were nothing to do with the fact that he turned down the team he supported as a lad and was going to be guranteed European football next season. I know for a fact he didn't support liverpool as a kid, so don't always believe the press release hype! And of course wages were a factor, Neill has not denied that but he also spoke about how going to West Ham meant he was first choice for the starting 11 whereas at the bin dippers he was only going to be a squad player, something a player who wants to captain his country at the asia cup this summer can't have.

No better than Dyer and Dyer is average on a good day. He's a better player than Dyer, has more of an end product in my eyes. Can spit further than Dyer can piss, allegedly IMHO they are both the product of their current managers. They share similar footballing traits, one just has a better manager who knows how to get more out of his players. Dyer hasn't had a manager like that since SBR in 02/03.

The question that has to be asked though, is would you be happy with a team of Campos and Dioufs? Because that is where big Sam's success lies, reviving the dregs not scouting young unknown talent. Diouf's a quality player. No better than Dyer and Dyer is average on a good day.

I hadn't until you asked if I had so I looked it up. I stand by my suicide smiley. I would rather have sex with Scott than go anywhere near any website, festival, ANYTHING Pitchfork related. Doesn't that make you snobbier than Pitchfork itself? Everyone knows how pretentious that website is. Even Pitchfork knows it. However, that doesn't detract from the quality of the festival, or the fact that it's about £13. I'd go just to see Sonic Youth perform daydream nation. The rest I could take or leave. Not a fan of the festival. The band you really want to see only ever gets the shitty 45 minute set and the crap you can't stand always ends up being the headline. Good thing about it though is if a band is here for a festival they end up doing their own shows anyway. The Scientist this Saturday, Gomez next week, NIN the week after, got to love festival time of the year.
