The media know nothing, this is just another one of their 'deadline' stories, made up in the hope that something happens by 5pm this afternoon.

I see there's £64m up for grabs on the Euromillions Lottery, if I won that much I'd seriously have to consider whether it'd be worth chucking £10m in to Moat's consortium just to get things moving. Ashley brought about the ruination of our club and could have redeemed things many times, he deserves any losses he makes for being such a stubborn, arrogant tit. As time's gone on it's looked more and more like he's done it all on purpose... but he hasn't, surely... has he?

Sadly it would seem this is a very accurate observation, with the size of the squad as it is and the 'senior' first team players going out of the door as they are we simply won't have the team to put out for even a half decent campaign. We were a thin squad about 4-5 years ago, we're near-death anorexic now!

I don't trust this 'kingshearer', I've never heard of any Toon fan calling Shearer 'King', it's a title usually associated with Keegan. Plus anyone who signs up to a forum without using caps for the first letter of their name and has bad grammar is suspect... ... call me paranoid Sorry i thought this was a Toon forum not an English lesson It takes a while to understand the sense of humour on here at times, tell him to fuck off and he'll be fine. The opinions of 'casual readers from other clubs' doesn't bother me one bit. What does is the media are lovingly portraying us as deluded, out of touch, and that 'we're too big for the CCC', etc.... Whilst most of us are doing our level best to dispell that bollocks, sad cases like Stevie are just fuelling it! Being democratic/truthful many, many of our fans do think like that. You can try and dispel it by all means but it won't completely go away and sometimes you need an occasional rant to counter some of the "sensibleness". As an aside I was also thinking this morning why I've always hated Sheff Wed - probably the worst football murdering team I've ever seen under Wilkinson in 83/84. I doubt our fans are anymore deluded than anyone elses tbh, we all want/expect to do well and most people are biased towards their own team.

To be fair I think we are too big of a club to be where we are if we're going by following, ground size and history, anyone in the media who thinks otherwise is deluded imo. That said I don't think we've got much to shout about, we're where we are because we've been shit for the past few years. In essence we haven't had a team/manager worthy of our size since Bobby went, but that's been down to bad running from the top down. Sadly you don't get in to the Premiership on reputation so here we are.
