Fuck it, I'm coming to the conclussion that we need to sell as many first team players as possible and start again from scratch. We won't go bouncing back up to the prem this season but given a couple of seasons to build with the right manager we might be better off all round... ... maybe.

Sadly it would seem this is a very accurate observation, with the size of the squad as it is and the 'senior' first team players going out of the door as they are we simply won't have the team to put out for even a half decent campaign. We were a thin squad about 4-5 years ago, we're near-death anorexic now!

I don't trust this 'kingshearer', I've never heard of any Toon fan calling Shearer 'King', it's a title usually associated with Keegan.
