How many points required to win the league and ...
TheMoog replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
It's got fuck all do to with who we should or shouldn't beat, with our strongest first eleven we should beat most, if not all teams in the Championship. The problem is keeping that first eleven fit and uninjured for the entire season you fucking flid. We don't have the cover so unless we have miraculously indestructible players we'll have to field a weakened team at some point when other teams will be more likely to beat us. Are you some sort of fucking vegetable?! Jesus Christ on a bike. -
Marlon's going to be a cracking striker at our level, I'm sure his record isn't that bad. Plus he looks like a Goombar(spelling?) from the Super Mario Bros movie, we need cover - unless people are starting to believe the shite Accadickhead spouts.

Is that someone who spends the day dreaming of seasoning?

We'd get creamed in the prem with this side, no ifs or buts about it. That's why whoever (if indeed anyone does) gets control will have a huuuuuuge job trying to re-establish NUFC as a proper football side. Are you sitting comfortably, because I have a little story for you. 3 or 4 seasons back, a club called Sunderland got relegated with a measly 15 points. It looked like the end as the then chairman wanted out, they were hugely in debt and looked to be heading for oblivion. Then along came aload of paddies, put some dough in, made an inspired managerial appt at that time, and now they look as though they have a bright future with a class chairman, a rich owner that likes to be in the background, and are signing decent players, paying the wages which they never used to do, and paying big transfer fees which they never used to do. Does this not tell anyone how quickly things can change around ???? Many people on here seem to luxuriate in looking for things to be bad and go wrong - to rejoice in the bad things that are happening and may happen. I prefer to look at the many positives which is probably why I wake up in the morning looking forward to life unlike the hundreds of manic depressives on here. There is light at the end of the tunnel, and whilst there is light there, I am not going to be ground down by the doom mongers on here ??? !! And if we don't get any significant investment and/or Assley hangs on waiting for his £240m (price + debt + overdraft) what then? I really believe that Ashley thinks we will go up on a shoestring and that the club will be worth loads more when back in the prem. He would be mad to sell now unless he is getting his £240m back which I doubt. The loan system allows us to bring in 8 players during the season so whenever we hit problems on the injury front, we can dip in as and when. He knows that, and he also knows this division is shit. There isn't one team in this division capable of knocking it about like us - ok, we lacked a bit of punch upfront due to injuries, but the occasional bouts of slick passing almost brought reward eg Nolan's early miss. With the deadline passing and with Taylor, Smith, Nolan and Gutierrez still on the books, the future is bright. You're right that he won't want to sell if he thinks he can get more. But saying "he knows" this leagues is shit and that we can romp it with loanees is well..... he is the same person that took us within one season from a club that could have been top 8 (and should have got top 13 being run by a chimpanzee) to relegation. Two things worry me, firstly that Ashley and muppets like Derek Ll... I mean Accaspacca think our squad is strong enough to maintain our current form through the rest of the season and secondly that if we did manage to get promoted somehow Ashley would just hike the price he'll sell at up even more unrealistically, meaning we still wouldn't be bought out and that we'd just get relegated again. The bloke's an absolute cunt and I wouldn't cross the road to piss on him if he was on fire. -
We can still sign loan deals though right? I see Sky are reckoning we're trying to get the Goombar Marlon Harewood in.

From BBC Match Stats Shots on target Newcastle 6 Leicester 6 So what you're saying is on another night it could have been 6-6? -

While i wouldnt miss him one bit, Geremi played well on the right on wednesday. I also think we are underestimating how well leicester played. I thought they seem to battle and run after everything. I also thought on another night some of our attacking moves and shots would have come off and we could have scored 4 or 5. So, Leicester played really well but we could have had 4 or 5? OK You know what i mean you cantankerous fucker!!!! I don't actually since we never looked like breaking them down until Guthrie scored. Unless by 'on another night' you meant a night where we fielded a different side and played a lot better. And you say I talk shite Without having the highlights in front of me there were several shots on target that went straight at the keeper, Guthrie had two go just over, smithy hit the target, Geremi wizzed one past the post etc etc fucking cetera! I think Leicester had more shots on goal than us didn't they? -
Is that right? He was FM-tastic and a half!

They might kill for the current first team, but not squad - we don't have a 'squad'... Went to NUFC to drag up the full squad and on the appropriate page under Newcastle United Senior Squad 09/10 its actually says...... http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Senio...1317904,00.html Yep, that IS funny. -
We need more than just Lovenkrands sadly, he'd be a good signing though.

Honestly, what a complete prick. -
Happy with that... but it's weird that even SSN has buggered up, nothing on us anywhere

Keep us informed of the score lad

Damn the copyright holder!

A damn shame, the stream just went down as the subs came on. I'd have liked to have seen them for the last few minutes, ah well. Ranger had a brilliant game, excellent. Enrique, Saylor and Nolan did well too - though obviously Nolan would have been even better had he put a bit more in to his shots on goal.
-
Crackin from Guthrie! Goooooooooaaaaal!!!
-
Barton's been pants.
-
... of course you don't need squad depth apparently, according to Accaspacca
-
Aye, Sky's confirmed a season long loan deal for Xisco. So who does that leave us up front then? As I recall we're not exactly short up front amongst the reserves anyway, might mean Lovenkrands is deffo coming back then.
-
Promotion's far more important, we don't have the luxury of choosing between the two with things as they are - a cup isn't going to bring the needed money or decent potential new owners to the table like Prem football does.
-
This current squad is far too good NOT to go up.....

It's the exact sort of thread that tars us all with the same brush as being deluded and arrogant.
