I don't understand how people are so in awe of Keegan that he can do no wrong. He has, but for the right reasons, or at least reasons that no one in their right mind wouldn't have expected. Don't flick a tigers balls and then whine about getting bitten = don't employ Keegan and then whine when he told you to lump it because it wasn't "as advertised". I cant see how a tribunal could rule in favour of the club because the manager was proven to want to buy top players, that still doesnt make it right to buy over his head. Even with the slightest shred of truth being there then it's unlikely Keegan said more than something along the lines of "Yeah, it'd be nice to sign those players", he's not a fool though. Then come June when Kinnear's contract is up, he's in an easy position to make a smooth transition into our manager.
