  1. Likewise. Having worked in financial services my entire career (I use the term career very loosely), while it may take up of half of my time, it certainly isn’t half my life. I have next to no emotional attachment to work aside from the visceral hatred of some of the arseholes I have to work with.
  2. Agreed, Big Joe is dominating them. In fact our midfield three are miles on top. Just a shame we haven’t committed Young yet.
  3. Congratulations to anyone who makes it to the end of this. I tapped out after 15 seconds. Who watches this utter utter shite?
  4. Other people may have been to Madeira and enjoyed it. I doubt it though. In fairness, I got off to a bad start as my wife had booked us a surprise holiday for my birthday. She only told me the rough time of the flight and the airport. After some research, I had it in my head that we were going to Côte d’Azur as there was a flight to Nice at that time. Imagine my surprise when I arrived at the check-in desk to find out that we were flying to Funchal and that all the other passengers looked like extras from Jason and the Argonauts. I have been to the Côte d’Azur since and can confirm that it is a significant step up from Madeira.
  5. We went a few years ago. The landscape is stunning but it is a fucking boring Island. The average tourist there is about 90 years old too. It’s also not that warm and it rains a lot. The main city (Funchal) felt a bit run down. That said, there is a Cristiano Ronaldo museum which is as snidey as the man himself. We ended up just getting mortal on Poncha as there wasn’t much else to do.
  6. I’m convinced that messageboard is just some sort of Care in the Community scheme. I reckon there are only three people on there posting from multiple accounts. There surely can’t be that many oddballs (and by oddballs, I mean fuckwits) kicking around the Sunderland area.
  7. To pay for all the clobber you bought in the shop? All the while giving it the whole “this is technically legal tender chat”. You should be ashamed of yourself.
  8. Couldn’t agree more. The trick is not to get too invested in work. You’re contractually obliged to do your job and the company are contractually obliged to pay you for doing your job, that’s it. I’ve been working for my current company for 13 years and I won’t give it a second thought the day after I leave. They can get to fuck as soon as they are no longer paying me. Mind you, my job is as pointless as they come.
  9. Having been to Uni, I can quite confidently say the the cleaners are comfortably more intelligent than the majority of the students.
  10. Haven’t seen a single Dominos, proper shithole.
  11. In Rome at the moment. Pretty much every cafe and bar sells bottles of Tennents Super, very odd. I think it is considered a craft beer here rather than it’s true purpose of keeping tramps warm.
  12. For the sake of this forum, please go back, we all miss hearing about your workplace tales of woe!
  13. There was a bloke called Rupert playing for the GB Hockey Team (I think the other 10 players were all called Ollie). Can’t say I was too upset when they got knocked out.
  14. I’m sure I read somewhere that he used to be able to be able to claim all the booze as being tax deductible on medical grounds.
  15. I suspect he has a tattoo of it. As you say, the fucking prick.
  16. Labour won by 152 votes in Chelsea and Fulham. Off you fuck Greg Hands.
  17. Was just thinking that, worth continuing with Channel 4’s coverage just for that.
  18. Chelsea and Fulham for me. The odious Greg Hands is our MP and it’s going to be very tight. 50% of the kids in the constituency go to private schools and his sole campaign is pretty much based on the 20% VAT on schools and the posh cunts who live here are lapping his bullshit up.
  19. We should sign Bob Wilson just to show how ridiculous the whole thing is.
  20. Bad times in France, RN (the far right) getting 34% of the vote according to exit polls.
  21. He hasn’t been the same since he split up with Pliers. I’ll get my coat.
  22. Fairly sure Mainoo got on against Serbia but I take your point.
  23. It’s an easy group and the quality of our players will take us to the later stages at which point the deficiency of our management/tactics will let us down. Then we’ll all get over it quickly because we don’t really give a fuck about international football. So long as none of our players get injured, I’ll consider it a successful tournament.
  24. It’s a parliamentary election, not a presidential one. It could certainly weaken Macron but he can’t stand in the next presidential election so only has two and a bit years left. A lot more people will vote in these elections than the European elections. I’m a plastic frog as I have citizenship via marriage and I’ll vote in these even though I didn’t bother voting in the European elections yesterday.
