I worked with a bloke who'd been in Azerbaijan when the USSR collapsed, basically all the Russians (who were in all the supervisor roles) just pissed off home and he said overnight everything just stopped working, trams/buses, everything, the workers were told what to do every day and there was no-one to to tell them anymore, he said it was surreal, people everywhere just confused, do I go to work, do I not, what do I do if/when I get there.

Hence my mention of "elite" and coaching/method/plan. There's a hell of a lot of players who would look dogshit compared to Botman, and of those, a fair few would look dogshit compared to Lascelles.

The thing with the likes of Dummett and Lascelles and the "they're shit" comments, all over the place pre-game, is that the truth is they're not actually shit. To be even involved at this level means they are very good footballers. Absolutely they're not "elite" and compared to elite players they'll not look as good/will be prone to more mistakes, but put very good footballers into a team with good coaching and a solid method/plan and a sprinkling of elite around them and they'll do a job as we saw.

Whichever cunt(s) did it, they knew what they were doing, that's not some random twat with a chainsaw from Lord tool hire.
