They got the replacement and it was AGAIN widely reported at the time that £40 Mill would do it, but the signed replacement was played as "oh not that replacement" and we got hosed late on, a slight hosing we can well afford. Our Wissa offer was at the value that had been set as part of his so called agreement, we didn't lowball, we made a second higher offer shortly thereafter. Yet more revisionst history.

We tried to be agile, but we got repeatedly gazumped FFS, we went for Wissa really early but got rebuffed (not until we get a replacement) so we would have thought we just need to wait a bit, all the noise around the deal was positive, then the replacement was "not the replacement we meant" by which time everything had moved on. Sometimes circumstances conspire against you and that's just unfortunate it's not down to bad planning. You're using hindsight to create your argument.
