Our #1 need (alongside RW) is someone to push Schar down the pecking order not a youngster to push him, a youngster to usurp him is what we need. I'm saying flogging Kelly now is stupid from a squad depth perspective, not for today but going forward, we're fucking ancient at CB. We're creating another hole to fill when we have other holes WAY more important.

There are 2 centre back positions that require depth, Left and Right CB, Kelly is a left sided defender and currently 3rd choice LCB, behind Burn and Botman, we are terribly exposed at RCB. Kelly is also 3rd choice LB (IF Targett is fit, 2nd if not). Schar will never be in the conversation to play LCB. Krafth would get the nod at RCB as he's right footed, Kelly would likewise get the nod on the left. Next season Targett will likely be gone so Kelly will likely be 2nd choice LB - he should also be ahead of Burn as he'll be another year older and even slower. It's quite simple really - Sell him and we'll have to replace him in the summer to avoid all getting old together.

Every one of them, bar Tonali in patches, was completely "off it", using all five subs and changing it up wouldn't have lifted the rest of them, especially as we haven't got like for like quality on the bench. You can change it up or tactically tweak it if one or two are off the boil, but you can't cater for, or fix it, for eleven of the fuckers. Was a bad day, we'll get over it.
