Simply "bodies through the door" would be madness, it'd just store up getting rid of deadwood issues in future (a'la Hayden). What we need is either specifically targetted starting quality upgrades (expensive) or young players with a road map to become positional upgrades (less expensive). i.e. we want to upgrade certain players who are then pushed down from first XI into the squad, or players added to the squad who are projected to rise in the pecking order. If none of those are available, we should stand pat until the summer IMO.
