  1. Heard nothing but bad about Tiscali mind !! What was wrong with Plusnet? a couple of techy's at work reckon it's fine
  2. Moving into me new house soon and trying to decide on new broadband provider. Internet does get hammered with my lads' on-line gaming and not downloading movies (because it's illegal and we wouldn't want to do anything illegal would we) Sky Broadband seems to be the fave at the moment, any suggestions from the techy whippersnappers on here ?? Can't go Telewest (my current ISP) as they don't cover the new house's area
  3. Bit late for me. Ive already bought me HD tele. Im very happy with it. Major spate of burglaries round near me where houses and schools are being broken into for their projectors and then theyre being flogged on to pubs etc. Well any burgler who manages to get mine will need a stepladder as it's to be ceiling mounted, disarm the alarm and avoid the dogs, if they manage that they'll deserve their ill gotten gains
  4. ON the verge or procuring Infocus IN76 HD projector 6ft Motorised Screen Yamaha RXV1700 AV receiver and DVDS1700 DVD player Kef 3005 Speakers Gonna be sweeeeet BTW projector and screen way cheaper than a big plasma or LCD
  5. Had red numbers in the old days, don't have a problem with it myself
  6. Alledgedly versus Tottenham to King(I think) "Shut your fucking mouth nigger" I think, definitely had shut mouth and nigger in combination Alledged but widely believed to be totally true in journo circles
  7. At the end of the day he alledgedly, in a fit of pique, called someone a name, a very distastefull one granted, but big fucking deal. If he's guilty he gets a short ban/fine - end of. I would also be very surprised if Emre a Turk (who are particularly volatile at times) would react in the heat of the moment in English. And all the while John Terry walks free because he's England captain
  8. Wyn Davies in Mark Toneys at the Haymarket, having a cup of tea. Players knew how to live it up in those days, I did get his autograph though and he didn't set fire to any banknotes or tell me to fuck off.
  9. measured at 106.9 mph supposedly, boosh yafukka
  10. John Terry's charge must be lost in the post
  11. That's at least the third time I've seen that comment in various articles. Loans only it seems
  12. Aye standards dropped from something akin to Panorama down to Beagles About
  13. He's a terrier in midfield He gets into too many scraps. Maybe he wants to be in Fight Club with Brad Pitbull To be fair that's when someone loses the ball and he tries to retriever the situation
  14. Impressive post, thread was losing focus and you leapt in to whippet back into shape
  15. My first ever Toon hero, mainly because I got a Newcastle Subbutteo team and one of the players heads wasn't painted so he was instantly Benny
  16. There must be something addictive in the brown slick that hangs in the air over the place, particularly visible if driving down the A19 as the suns comming up.
  17. Well, we have qualified regularly for europe, including a Champions League run, and bought England players, so if you think that is stagnant I suppose its correct. But its far from rubbish or medioce, or a joke to other fans and other clubs, if you think that then you have a problem, because you wouldn't know real mediocrity if it hit you on the head with a hammer. Oh sweet lordy dear! Which England players have we bought? the 'Keeper? nope, A defender? no sir, a midfielder...well...kind of... he's (possibly) the 5th choice central midfielder... ok.. well hows about our England striker? Done well this season hasn't he Yes, Yes I know he's injured but my point is this.. How can you claim buying England players as an indication of something good? Arsenal have No current England players and they're in a much stronger position than we are. Boro' have one and didn't have to buy him, Charlton have one ffs. I know what your version of mediocre is pal, it takes into account every club from Afc Wimbledon to Man U, so yeah in those terms we're not mediocre... but for fucks sake I don't want this club and Watford mentioned in the same breath, let alone Woking Town! Leazes man, we were challenging for the title, we were playing Champions League football, we were playing exciting enthralling football.... now we're playing for our very premiership survival and we're playing in the inter-two-bob and in general, we're playing shite! I know you're hooked on the phrase mediocre and that's fine, but you're talking about the entire football league format, we're talking about for the club as it is now. The size, the expectation and the RECENT history. Of course we're doing better than Lincoln and the like, we have better pedigree and so attract big money, big crowds and big players... but it's all comparative. Since freddy took stewardship we've not surpassed anything we'd achieved under Hall other than crowd receipt and all other statistics which would come with simply playing more games. He hasn't modernised the club, he hasn't made sweeping changes to the academy to encourage home-grown talent, he hasn't approached the media with any idea of how a chairman should act. Face it Leazes, we at best have been stagnant, a stagnation you're ok with. You and I both know that in reality we've stuttered and stumbled back a few paces. We're no where, not even close to the title race, our squad is thin and even at full strength we are severely lacking in important areas, we are STILL the laughing stock of the premiership when it comes to off-field behaviour. (despite a recent lapse in coverage and your claims to the contrary.) Now I know you'll claim that such things are the remit of the manager. Who hires the management and more importantly...bollocks! Chairman can veto and strongly suggest signings.. as he clearly has done on occasion... Chairmen can introduce 5yr plans and set his stall out from the beginning, Chairman can direct the club along a paht. Freddy has done nothing but massage his ego with "big name"- token players, get his pie-stuffed face in the media as often as humanly (I stretch the term) possible and employ the wrong peope after the wrong people. oh and make stupid ass quotes for the media Excellent post Unfortunately it will simply bounce of Leazes' impermiable "cloak of denial"
  18. I've done 25 years and no sign of any time off for good behaviour, in theme with the thread, I would have got significantly less for moida
  19. What do you mean by tougher ?? hard labour, chain gangs etc or just longer time ?? As for barbaric, they reap what they sow and I don't see why society should pay for their "longevity"
  20. Lovelly Jubbly (so's the honeyweiss)
  21. I would like a verdict brought into UK of 'Irrefutably Guilty'. With modern forensics, such decisions can be made. Brady. Hindley (sp). Huntley. There are three names that I would have had their owners wiped out, without hesitation. I think such a verdict would be very hard to make. There's always the possibility of contamination of evidence or the police framing you, for instance. Aw come on. Forensic techniques these days are a huge leap forward from "Slipper of the Yard" and fit-ups are incredibly rare. I know lots of Polis and they HATE going to court and giving evidence because they get treat like shit. They've also said because of the nightmare that it is in court, that in cases that do get to trial it's 99.9% certain the defendant is guilty as fuck, and they wouldn't take the shit unless that was the case. I'm not having a go at the police in particular, but it must be at least in the realms of possibility that a bent one (they do exist) would fit someone up if they were as convinced of someone's guilt as you make out. Anecdotal evidence suggests this happens quite a lot in the US. The point I'm trying to make is that miscarriages of justice will always happen, improved forensic evidence may reduce this but won't eliminate it entirely. And there's no going back when you hang someone, or toture someone, for that matter. Agreed, but it would be interesting to find out (but impossible too I would guess) the number of "innocents" found guilty/executed and the number of murderers who kill again upon release (or in prison). If the latter number was higher, the protection of innocents argument favours capital punishment. I don't advocate torture either, just a simple 9mm Nuerofen

  23. I would like a verdict brought into UK of 'Irrefutably Guilty'. With modern forensics, such decisions can be made. Brady. Hindley (sp). Huntley. There are three names that I would have had their owners wiped out, without hesitation. That couldn't happen, because I would reckon, if someone was found plain old guilty, their lawyers would suggest that as it wasn't "irrefutable" there must be some doubt, cue lots of appeals
  24. Well, you have to be sure of his guilt and allow him his appeals. This is why it is a myth that capital punishment is a cheaper option than life imprisonment. And even then they get it wrong which is often found out pretty quickly posthumously. I'd like anyone to give me one good reason in support of capital punishment. Murder you're kidding right? so if I'm a yank and carrying a gun, I shoot someone in self defense, but a good lawyer cranks my case up to murder 1 I should fry? I don't think murders deserve death. but to be fair I don't think any country has a legal/penal system that's perfect You're called The Fish, it's your job And no I wasn't kidding, I believe we should reintroduce capital punishment for murder, I wasn't particluarly commenting of the USA (legal system is SOOO ropey) but here. I can't see any jsutification in keeping bastards like those recently convicted of pouring petrol through someone's letter box and setting it on fire, alive. Just my opinion though.
