Surprisingly for a nation with the average intellect of a slug, American football is an extremely nuanced and complex sport. It's relentlessly exciting when you understand what's happening. I'd watch it over anything other than NUFC (it rarely clashes with the cricket). American foooball is an entirely diifferent game to rugby, it's like saying Aussie rules is just an imitation of Rugby just because the balls are the same shape. I do, however, believe the real danger to football comes from the American owners, I have no doubt they'll want the NFL style franchise/closed shop structure with the teams not part of that, basically left to rot.
