Martins crossed for Dyer to score. According to the radio commentary he was woeful. They were talking crap. He didn't have a goal threat, but he was a constant pain for Arsenal to deal with, due to his pace and power. Linked up well with Dyer, who was excellent.

Yup, goalies never make mistakes do they? I think Given's howler with Dublin (I think) was far worse. I think he's excellent back-up, but not in Given's class.

Didn't Villa play him in the centre? No. And in the few games I watched he put in some decent crosses. Like the one he put in against Palermo. It's just that he is not getting them in more regularly. But on the other hand he is still quite young. IMHO some people are a bit too critical. Way too critical more like. If there's someone people should have a dig at, it shouldn't be him.

If his crosses improved greatly though, he'll be awesome. Sadly that's not going to happen here.

If the dog hadn't taken a shit, it would have caught the rabbit. How often was Emre at his best in a Newcastle shirt? He's inconsistent I know, but he'd do far better when used correctly. He's a playmaker, and is way too deep - seems very restricted. When he allows himself to burst forward, he does well, so if he played permanently with a holding midfielder we'd see his ability more often.

It's not Emre's fault the stupid manager thinks he's a holding midfielder. He was more attacking in the second-half on Saturday, and played well, linking up with Dyer well too. I accept his corners are pish, but at best he is a quality player tbh.
