If you are trying to get from there to Penshaw in rush hour you'll be looking at at least 40 mins I would say. It'll not be a cheap taxi fare, it's the best part of 20 miles. Don't read a lot but am currently really enjoying Crossroads by Niccolo Ammaniti I heard a review of on Five Live and got to say it's lived up to the hype they were giving it. The main thrust is a heist story with a group of hapless neo-nazis, it has the feel of a Coen Brothers script.
