  1. I'm amazing at this game! I had to sign up to a new site because I actually read your OP and saw that I couldn't use Betfair. Turns out I didn't actually confirm my bet so I guess that doesn't count (it's 0-0 at the moment so I'm not just crying off because I'm losing). My new actual bet is Corinthians to beat Sao Paulo @ 8/5, giving me £13 if they win.
  2. I look forward to the honour of being the first knocked out. £5 on Academica Coimbra 11/8 to beat Vitoria Guimaraes - new balance will be £11.88>
  3. Except the Aberdeenshire councilors originally rejected his plans. It was Salmond in Edinburgh who overturned their decision after deciding in the first place it was best for them to make it up north. Obviously didn't expect them to say no to a man with a bit of money.
  4. Oh well. Sri Lanka - India should be a cracking final.

    J69

YOu let him off the hook when he was reeling. I'm in my early 30's, there's no point in abusing him for the sake of it. You can't mould people in to how you want them to be. Take The Fish, at the bottom of him he's not a bad bloke, for years I've thought he was a wierdo, I still do, but he's his own bloke who am I or anyone else to say look you're a mug, you should change? Same as J69, comes across as arrogant, but we can all be guilty of that from time to time. If he talks shite or says something offensive I say something. Look at LM, nothing against him, he's a canny enough bloke imo, but Mancmag could produce the best post there's ever been on any message board, and still I think LM would put some negative slant on it because of towering net row flames which can be seen from here to N-O between the two, and there are little net angsts between people all over the shop, but it's daft really. I'd like to think if 90% of people met me in a pub they'd think aye, bit fuckin radge in his own way but he's areet, and am sure I'd think the same about the vast majority of other people on here. There's a lot of communication lost by just reading text, still though you can have a good laugh from time to time on here. Far too sensible and grown up for this thread. What were you thinking?
  6. The team had an average league gate of under 6.000. A place mugs go on holiday. I don't remember Ibiza being in a CL final.
  7. Luke + Ashley Young. With the Coles is that 8?
  8. This may be a really ignorant question, but why is age such an important factor in something like snooker? I've never been any good at it (and I've been young!) but to me it looks like the key is being able to concentrate for long periods of time (obviously with talent at the sport) and that can happen at any age. The only real reason I can think of for youngsters coming through and dislodging older players from the top of the rankings is down to motivation.
  9. Do you think by March 2016 it would be possible for you to be recognised as a world champion (or record holder etc) in any given activity? We were having this chat in the pub and I said that unless someone was pretty amazing at something now, there was no chance. My mate reckoned that all he needed to do was find a minority sport and dedicate a few years/months to it and he could do it. Which way do you lean? What do you reckon it would be possible to do it in?
  10. Not Moussa Sow? Top scorer in the league with 16. Gervinho only has 11. Nar, Hazard is more of Ben Arfa type than a striker, butr he's just a kid and he's Belgium's best player, lower centre of gravity, nee wonder Chelsea were after him. I had a bet on Lille about a year ago, watched the game on BET365, he got the ball off the keeper skinned half the team and got a last minute winner, he stuck out like a sore thumb that aside and he was only 18 then. Lille could win the french league this season like, absolutely pivotal game for them the neet against Lyon though. Sow got another last night, a Nolan-esque conversion inside the 6 yard box. When I saw this thread I came in to saw Sow would be a better shout than Gervinho. Deadman, how does Moussa rate in FIFA? Better than Carroll?
  11. BA Publishing with Journalism Complete waste of time. If you want to be a journalist, get a job on a paper and you'll learn much more in those four years than you would at a uni. Plus, you won't need to spend the time after your course finding out how to be a journalist.
  12. #99 I'm sure there's a keeper somewhere who wears that number...
  13. I woke up in Christchurch this morning and got a bus from Cathedral Square around half nine. About three hours later I was in a town 140km away sitting in a shaking hostel. Completely crazy day.
  14. I concur. I got 15. I got a 16. As for first names/nicknames, you only need to put in the surname so it shouldn't matter.
  15. Team of the series? Strauss, Cook, Trott, Pietersen, Hussey, Bell, Prior, Bresnan, Swann, Tremlett, Anderson
  16. Who invented the knock knock jokes? Two chaps.
  17. Didn't Fergie say its because of better pitches?....the best sides are able to play at their best on the almost uniformly great surfaces in the premier league. But I think you're more accurate Which British footballer scored a goal at his home ground for the away team and it wasn't an own goal? I'm thinking somebody at Inter or AC or another ground share team. Becks? Ian Rush probably too. Ince? Almost every striker (plus friends) who played for Wimbledon or Palace in the 90s?

  19. Alvin Martin Any danger of you not knowing anything? tbf that one was piss easy to anyone over the age of 30. That match still haunts me Pedro went in for the last didn't he? Yep. Got one before Stevie!
  20. Lots to answer to. I thinkFiat (or someone acting on behalf of Fiat) are still the main stakeholders and Gadaffi has the second biggest share. The answers I had were: 2042 (2038 is the last year it can have a name on it, I think, so they won't actually need a new one until the tournament afterwards) USA Colombia
  21. It's Colonel Gaddafi isn't it? Yup. A few more... In which year will a new World Cup trophy be introduced and why? Who did Andres Escobar score his own goal against that led to him being shot? Which country was initially meant to stage the 1986 World Cup before declaring financial problems and it going to Mexico instead?
  22. This is a 'you know it or you don't', I'll post the answer up soon if no one gets it. Good trivia nonetheless. Who is the second largest stakeholder of Juventus?
  23. Petit in 98? Edit: Should've refreshed before answering.
  24. Aye, to all three of you. Don't think anyone's done it since him.
