A couple of years ago the council wanted to close our kids’ nursery. I wasn’t having that as the next nearest one is 5 minutes further walk away. I rallied other parents and we took on the council. During this time the group, bafflingly, asked me to consider standing as a councillor as part of our campaign. Even more bafflingly I actually gave it more than 3 seconds consideration. Chatted to councillors about their lives while meeting them to save the nursery. Some lovely people, well meaning, some deluded morons too. I realised it is a terrible time to be a politician, all they are doing (in the role) is managing decline. It must be soul destroying if you have a heart. Fuck that noise.

One of the best crosses he’s made. I have no left leg, and barely a right one tbf, but the only goal I remember scoring when I regularly played was with my left. Just swung at it, felt the wrongness and watched it bounce spasmodically, flummoxing the keeper completely. Buy the ticket, take the ride.

Watched the VR stuff last night, it is absolute class, if you don't have a kit then find a way to see it. The goals, the trophy lift (you are right there in front of Bruno, Trips, Gordon and can hear their conversations) and the party in the dressing room - all great to see in this format. I must've watched the goals about 30 times each, two of the best goals we have scored this season, absolutely perfect timing. Toying with coming up on the 29th so I can see the bus from half a mile away and pay £25 for parking.
