Justin and Gary used to live in my street but I thought that was stretching it for a claim to fame tbh Did you work in Iceland Nope - Impact Sports. Does he still run 'Birthdays'?

I'd totally forgotten about the pencils in Eldon Square...

Is that Sam's brother like?
-
It certainly did - I bought the 1984 Souvenir LP in there.. Bet that'd be worth a fortune if I still had it now.

Aye the NUSC shop was around the corner. So it was Yep - bought my first 'caser' in that shop.... Spent far too much time in there mid 80s, they knew me by name! They were two old wifeys weren't they? Used to get me Armstrong Galley away bus tickets there. Aye... and if you gave them any lip they weren't adverse to giving you a clip round the ear! Was like an Aladdin's cave that place - stocked full of toon memorabilia.

Trust you....

When I was working in Chester-le-Street, Bryan Robson's brother ran the shop just over the way from ours. When Ravanelli went AWOL from Boro, Justin came in the shop one day and asked me and the other lad working there if we wanted to buy Ravanelli's boots. When I asked if Bryan knew he'd got them he asked "where do you think I got them from?"

Saved a penalty from Gazza.

I think I must be alone when I say that Magma is not real. Can't be. No it was at one of those fooball events at the Metro-Arena where retired players went and played in a tornument. Can't think what's it called though. Soccer Six?

Watched the first half of "War of the Worlds" (the Tom Cruise version). Started falling asleep so turned it off - can anyone advise if it's worth watching the rest or should I save part of my life?

The one with the Farmers Rest in it (and Noda taxis) has brought loads of memories flooding back.

The rumours are that he wanted him but Parry signed Keane instead. Villa resisted a move in the summer as well by all accounts - a bit of a Matt Le Tissier apparently.

Jagielka wasn't even a recognised central defender IIRC. Wasn't he a midfielder when he was at Sheffield United? Everton have got a fantastic coaching team behind them. Ironically a number of them jumped ship from us. Alan Irvine (now manager at Preston) came from Newcastle as did Steve Round (the only decent man in big Sam's backroom team IMO). The quality coming through the ranks speaks volumes too. Dan Gosling, Jack Rodwell, Tony Hibbert amongst them - along with of course Wayne Rooney. Moyes is pretty astute in the transfer market too - he may be a twat but Tim Cahill being signed from Millwall was a bit of a masterstroke.

Mike Ashley is probably lining him up as we speak... EDIT: same lawyer as Given has, isn't it?

I'm indifferent. It's sad she's dying so young but we all owe a death at some point. Plenty of women have died of cervical cancer in their 20s but there's never been such a carnival about it before. Doesn't really need the media attention it's grabbing tbh.

Slow news day at the Sunday Express? Jesus wept

The all time classic... There was a young lady from Ealing Who had the most perculiar feeling She laid on her back And opened her crack And pissed all over the ceiling

Propaganda from start to finish. I firmly believe the police were behind this story and as Lord Justice Taylor put in his report, not one witness he spoke to backed up the story and those who reported it and those who published it were ill advised to do so. Absolute bullshit it is.
