  1. You have only one fail and they're kicking you off an engineering course? That doesn't sound right at all - the government pay a subsiduary to Universities for all engineering students on the grounds that they want to encourage the education of what it considers a dying trade. Given that, Universities will do whatever they can to ensure the numbers remain on the engineering courses. To give an example. We had one lass on our course - turned up to one lecture in about every 20. Submitted coursework late turned up for exams but left after the minimum time needed but still she progressed on at the end of each year on the grounds of her financial value to the uni. She only ended up with a pass at the end of the 3 years rather than an honours degree like but still..... Where were you studying?
  2. What dispicable levels of pornography are you having to explain to Mrs W now...? Can't blame it all on the grog Jimbo
  3. I hope the greedy cunt gets mugged. Fucking disgrace that he's drawing over half a million a year in pension when he was single-handedly responsible for the mess that RBS find themselves in. Someone at the Government needs to take a long hard look too. How the fuck could they have missed that fact that a figure such as £650k p.a. was not a legally binding agreement? Totally fucking incompetent - I have no confidence in them, nor the other lot.
  4. And broadcast it live on LivingTV, obviously. You have to feel sorry for her though. Not just in the obvious sense that she is dying but because she has absolutely no idea how to conduct herself and those around her obviously aren't helping. She's already a millionaire and I wonder if she'll really earn that much in her last weeks to make that much of a difference to the lives of those she is leaving behind. But she attaches infinitely more value to cash and being in the limelight than she does anything else. If she wasn't so interested in the latter, wouldn't she have had a quiet wedding (and the money saved could go to her kids). I think it would have been nice if she could have acted with a bit more dignity because I don't think her death (much like her time in the spotlight since she was on Big Brother) will be a particularly pleasant legacy for her children when they are older. She'll be remembered as a thick as fuck, ignorant media whore who couldn't even retreat into the background with a bit of dignity when she had (what is probably) days to live. All very sad and indicative of the UK today. You seem to be saying that with alarming regularity these days. I'm thinking it with alarming regularity. I guessed. Rather alarming, isn't it? I'll be buying the Mail next. I caught a glimpse of their front page today - photograph of David Cameron walking back from his car having just arrived home from the hospital.. What a bunch of cunts - really letting them grieve in private, aren't they?
  5. That's the crux of it in my mind... these clowns are going to hang around just as long as there's Premier League money coming in. If relegation was to spell the end of the nightmare that has been the club under their stewardship then perhaps it would be the silver lining of a very dark cloud. Sounds a perverse suggestion and even contemplating relegation, remembering how painful it was back in 1989 seems like I am going against my every thought. Sad thing is, I have no doubt that if these clowns don't take us down this season, they definitely will next.
  6. Added in with other fish today, and they were swimming all together instead of the older two just chasing each other around the tank. Fat boy Watson has bought himself a tank? Well I never...
  7. The V neck one, that we got promoted in aye. As was the slightly ameded roundy neck one that replaced it I think (the one minus the trim on the sleeves) - up to the roundy neck one with the sort of small overlayed square pattern on that replaced that. Basically up to the bar code one, which I think started getting sold with a Greenalls logo and then later the Blue Star. The Blue star patches that people could buy to put over the old Greenalls logo were a fucking sight like! I remember when we finally had the 'raised' Greenalls logo on the yellow away strip with the collar, rather than the screenprinty logos-felt like we'd arrived then (even though we were gash!) Some joker's trying to sell one on ebay for £45!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RARE-1991-NEWCASTLE-...A1%7C240%3A1318
  8. This bit in bold got me... says it's a great squad and then fails to show confidence in whether they're up to the task... What a complete joker
  9. They seriously haven't a clue, have they?
  10. Did some blonde bint in the seat behind him forget to put her seat belt on?
  11. Sending in his own people to make the true fans seem like the minority? Why am I not surprised?
  12. I reckon he's got a stay of execution for now...
  13. don't options C and D merge into one?
  14. Aye I do remember that we were in for Ginola but them looked to Salako. Didn't we make that audacious move for Baggio before we went back in for Ginola?
  15. Why do I have the feeling we'll be dragging this quote up in a little over 6 months and adding it to HF's list of bullshit? Strongest indication yet to me that Owen will definitely go.
  16. That is of paramount importance, for me. I don't have one iota of confidence in the man. The other two stooges have to go too IMO (Wise and Llambias).
  17. The thing is a lot of managers do that sort of thing.... once (although they'd been doing ok just prior to him taking control). Ferguson anywhere but Man U might have been a very good manager, but he wouldn't have won as much as he has. Although even at Man U he had the benefits of spending quite a bit from the off, the club punching below its weight and long term backing for finishes that would have got many manager sacked (I'll be surprised if any other Man U manager gets 4 seasons of backing like Fergy did for similar results, ever again). I wouldn't disagree. He's totally earned any plaudits he's gained at Man Utd though. He may have gained from certain circumstances etc. But name me one successful person on anything like his scale you couldn't say the same about? Everyone needs a bit of luck / being in the right place at the right time. So true. If Robson hadn't signed/got lucky with Bellamy and Robert would we hold him in such high regard? Those two signings changed our whole team and Bellamy was 3rd choice behind Bridges and Jeffers. Not sure Robert was even our first choice target either tbh Zenden was iirc. Correct. It echoed the transfer of Ginola by Keegan who he only turned to when his first choice failed a medical....... John Salako.
  18. Dalglish back to Liverpool has been a strong rumour on Merseyside for quite some time now...
  19. Actually his success at Man Utd has been built up on low cost buys and youth team players. The Neville's, Butt, Scholes, Giggs and Beckham all cost nothing while players like, Schmeichel, Cantona, Ince, Dublin and Kanchelskis and Keane were all bought for nominal fee's. He has spent big on some players but overall i don't think you can say he's only successful because he's had money. He rebuilt Man Utd from the ground up, they were patient with him in the beginning and they are now reaping the rewards. While I'm with you on the argument, you can't suggest that Keane was bought for a nominal fee. £3.6m IIRC which, at the time, was a British record eclipsing the £3.3m Blackburn paid Southampton for Shearer. Didn't last long before Blackburn paid Norwich £5m for Chris Sutton though.
  20. Marco Andretti being in F1 would be the first example of a third generation in the sport. His Dad Michael drove for McLaren back in 1993 and his Grandad Mario was F1 World Champion in 1978 driving for Lotus.
  21. Aye... or you could also get half rangers/newcastle. Didn't they do half brazil/newcastle when we signed Mirandinha too? I was actually thinking about those hats when this shop was mentioned. I had a half Toon / half Brazil one. They were those almost square ones that were basically tea cozies. Mine had a pom pom on top, but they weren't half and half as I pointed out. I had one of the flat caps with the old NUFC ball logo on the top
  22. Aye... or you could also get half rangers/newcastle. Didn't they do half brazil/newcastle when we signed Mirandinha too? 3/4 Toon 1/4 Brazil, I think I've still got mine somewhere. They were selling sombrero's as well, even though they are fuck all to do with Brazil. Rob are you sure it wasn't you who won the Nobel Peace Prize??? Fuck Desmond Tutu, Rob deserves it more. Total knob. Didn't they sell half newcastle / half brazil shirts for a time too? Literally was a job lot of replica shirts of each which had been cut down the middle and given the sewing machine treatment rather than being specifically produced.
  23. She'll probably chuck the keys in her mechanic's direction...
