1345: They key to making something up has to be to get your basic facts right. RedandWhiteTractor's mate's sister sounds a strange lass: "My mate's sister works in Greggs in Newcastle Airport. He saw Ivan Campo pass the bakery this morning, apparently on his way to meet Roy Keane at the Airport travelodge." The lady becomes a "he" in the second sentence. Interesting.

He's absolutely spot on IMO. Reading between the lines, I'd say a certain Mr Owen shares a similar opinion too...

nufc.com Catching a plane? More likely to catch some sort of rabid disease from Teeside....

Is that the South African variant? I remember Gemmill signing up for the text alerts (guess someone with no financial sense had to!) last year and breaking that one to us in a new thread at about 9.30 that night. Pretty much from that point on I was convinced Roeder (the man who Freddy took his time to make sure was right) was a mistake of the biggest proportions imaginable!

1114: PORTSMOUTH buy/CHELSEA sell We certainly expected this one - and not just because of the heads up from Bookem. All confirmed now and Portsmouth have picked up Glen Johnson from Chelsea for £3m. The full-back was at Pompey last season on loan.

1024: There is always the chance your club could sign a right chump today and Liverpool could be that club. Despite your rumours of a welter of wonderful signings coming to Anfield today, the Italian daily Tuttosport reports that Jean-Alain Boumsong will arrive from Juventus. Yes, that's the same Boumsong who blundered his way around Newcastle's defence from 2005 to 2006.

I blame Gemmill for starting the thread tbh... While we're at it, isn't 7.45am dangerously close to working hours? Reckon his resistance to this place is failing??
-
You'd think after 10 years, people would get on with their fucking lives again, wouldn't you?
-
Be just our luck that he signs for them and turns out to be awesome....

Those in red can easily remove colours you know....

I thought Dein had sold his shares to Kroenke?? I thought the whole trouble at Arsenal was that Dein had sold his shares to the American and had tried to encourage the other directors to do the same in order to help Arsenal compete with Chewsee and Manure - the other directors refused to follow Dein's lead. Is that right or wrong ?? He currently holds 9,072 shares (14.6%) in the club and is the third largest shareholder. BBC News ticker has just reported that Dein has sold his Arsenal shares for £75m.... Expect the rumour mill to get into full swing! Source: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6971124.stm

Precisely - its political correctness gone stupid combined with a stupid bint with a massive chip on her shoulder regarding NUFC who has no worthy news stories to print. Sack the bitch tbh!

They're making a very big issue out of something that is nowhere near on the scale that they're making it appear to be. Peasepud hit the nail on the head by pointing out that its not as though the 'abuse' is aimed at every player from a racial minority. Fuck's sake, terrace banter is all about prejudice of some sort and what happened on Sunday is hardly unprecedented? Had Mido not acted like the tit he did after scoring, no-one would have said a thing....

He hasn't been effective in much at all in competitive games this season imo. I agree with you on that one. He showed his worth against Sampdoria when he seemed to have a much more free role and was allowed to go on the attack.

I think it was a rash challenge, but I don't think there was any intent on harming Dyer tbh. Curbishley making something of it as he's just spent £7m on a player who may not play again. If it was one of his reserve players, I bet we wouldn't have heard half the noise we have.....
-
On the contrary Dr G, I think the signing of Smith is an inspired one. OK, he's not been effective every time he's played, but I think he was bought to deepen the squad as he can cover more than one base. Gives the likes of Martins, Owen and Viduka something to think about too and hopefully results in them upping their game. We look like a tight, solid unit at the back and it's something I haven't really witnessed in over 20 years of following this club. In terms of sorting the squad out, I think he's performed a miracle and it makes the sorry effort of Glenn Roeder 12 months ago all the more laughable.

There is more than one Juninho IIRC - is this the same bloke who said Teeside was his 'spiritual home'?? I also remember him finger-wagging up to Philippe Albert Odd fella....

I prefer oily lout arse myself....

What do you believe, an official statement put out by the club or an article in the Sun?
