  1. Almost.... He stopped 'meddling' of sorts when KK almost walked due to no cash being made available. That was the difference with Sir John IMO, despite the fact that he was at the top of the tree, he still had the utmost respect for the man who managed the team. Shepherd on the other hand appears to have no respect and sees Roeder (and the men before him) as inferior to him. Without the 'level' relationship between manager and chairman, success is bound to be difficult.
  2. Was listening to Talksport around 2ish yesterday and they were talking to a sports journalist (didn't catch his name) about the Newcastle situation. He said: "For the first time ever, Newcastle United had a great man at the helm in Sir John Hall - a man who put his love for the club at the forefront and had the opinion that success on the field would reap financial bonuses off it. His successor quickly destroyed the legacy that had been been put in place, thinking first and foremost about how much he could make personally from the club and worrying about the on-field matters a distance second. The rapid decline of the fortunes of the club is proof enough that the reign of Freddy Shepherd is one of the biggest cases of football mis-management there has ever been!" He also went on to comment that no-one was more responsible for how 'great' the Premiership became than Sir John Hall & Kevin Keegan with the brand of football and entertainment they brought to the league in its early days. He finished off by saying that a Premiership without Newcastle United would be a very sad situation for all.
  3. Totally agree. And what's more worrying is that is exactly the same bullshit that LM has spouted for ages!
  4. Just re-read that.....are we sure Leazes isn't him?
  5. So it's official then.......it's all OUR fault!
  6. McKeag must be laughing in his grave!
  7. So shooting the bastard and putting us all out of our misery will actually be doing him a favour? Nowt stopping them now - lace one of his pies with cyanide!
  8. 1. Go to http://www.belarc.com/ 2. Click on 'FREE DOWNLOAD' and then click 'Download Belarc Advisor' 3. When you've got it on your PC, run it and it will carry out an audit of your PC and report back on an HTML page. 4. One of the items reported is 'Memory Modules'. This should give you all the info you require
  9. Battery was suitably removed from the doorbell. One twat decided that trying to batter my door down was a good idea. His trick was me with a foul temper having not slept since Charlotte went into hospital. And seeing as he was about 16 and not dressed in a scrap of halloween gear, I don't feel at all guilty. Thieving arseholes!
  10. doesn't appear to.... I was thinking for a second that it might be an old favourite who'd attempted to return again.
  11. I don't know about anything else, but he's still not worked out how to use the quote facility properly!
  12. That was in Italy with Lazio. I now don't trust any managerial record in that country. Were his successes with Gothenburg a figment of my imagination then? He's been successful at club level wherever he's been.
  13. It's in the Sun so most likely is bollocks but I'm of the same opinion as Gemmill - he's a lot, lot better than what we have. A lot of people knock him for his time as England coach but what mustn't be forgotten is that he had a highly successful career at club manager level. On a related note, did anyone else see the news that Tommy Craig is set to be announced as John Collins' no.2 at Hibs? Our loss is their gain IMO - I'd love to find out what actually happened to expediate his departure.
  14. Can they do simple mathematical equations though?
  15. I'd take Shearer at this point. It's a big risk, but I think that's where we're at at this point. Could he have been the difference between last season and this season? Probably between himself, Craig, and a lack of full-time pressure on Roeder.
  16. Thursday 7th December @ 10am
  17. I dont think we get the full picture! But a fair enough idea of what was going on you do get. Look, so maybe my first post came out as pompous. If so excuse me and forgive me, wasnt my intention at all. I made it 10 minutes after the game and I was a fair bit frustrated and perhaps not as careful with words as I should have been. But some of the response was still unwarranted. It seems to me that leaning towards a slightly different opninon on this board is asking for trouble. Not just my posts, I know you lads think Im crazy, but Ive noticed anybody who seems to have a, lets say 'revolutionary idea' gest a fair bit of stick. This place reminds me of a group of old Grandma's sitting together, everybody sharing their common problems and past experiences with each other and congratulating each other on their wisdom and how well they've done with their kids and all that. Anybody who says 'well, I think this or that could have been done differently' is kicked out. Pompous?? Please don't tell me you're that stupid that you make a comment like you did without expecting people's backs to be up as a result? Your comment about the people being there being the "12th man to the opposition" is frankly insulting to those who've paid their money to go. I'm not in the least bit surprised they responded the way they did.
  18. The amount of medical attention my kids are getting, they're well suited to Newcastle United
  19. Just hope to fuck the kids have interest in running off the ball and tracking back to within their own half when the ball is down that end
  20. Aimaad22, why don't you just admit you were wrong rather than piling bullshit on top of bullshit? Some of the stuff you're coming out with is fucking hilarious! You NEVER get the same 'full picture' that you do when you're actually at a match - take it from someone who spent years going to watch Newcastle week in, week out and having to listen to people tell me what I was watching was different to how I'd seen it despite the fact the other person wasn't there.
  21. Aye, I'll give him that.... But then you expect soo much more than that from a midfielder. Ginola was miles ahead of Robert in terms of output.
  22. One of them obviously 'broke in' though - either that or you're leaving "I Love You" notes to yourself in front of the wrist pad for the mouse!
