Toontastic Piss Up - Smoggies (H) Sat 3rd March
Papa Lazaru replied to Scottish Mag's topic in General Chat
That fight was hilarious, it makes fights between prem footballers look hard! -
All young players suffer this as it's the easy option. If a manager is criticized for it he will then exercise the get-out option of, 'to stop burn out blah blah blah'. True and not something exclusive to Roeder or NUFC, when a young lad is up against a big money signing then alot of managers will take the easy option.

Its not a derby but because of the wankers who support them and the whole game cancelling fiasco, its agame i like to win more than most, but nothing close to the mackem games. I think we'll win a relatively close match, 2-1 or 3-1

Always got on really well with both parents, helps that they're two of the nicest people you could meet, mind! Did used to argue with my mam alot as a kid/teenager because we were both always right, but since i got older i gave up on the arguments as i couldn't be bothered, so i get on with them all the time basically! -
 Fair play to Jewell, thats a fine effort! Like Wenger I haven't seen it myself, didn't watch the "highlights" as it would be depressing!

Murdoch is truly one of the most evil people on this planet. Which world would you prefer? Murdoch and the Simpsons. Neither. Since a programme that good would have walked onto most if not all networks and has no need for Fox or Murdoch, i'll go for a world with The Simpsons and one where Murdoch is burning in hell where he belongs!!! You can sum Fox up by the fact they attempted/threatened to sue the Simpsons when its on their own network, the gormless bastards!

Thats the way it should be, like rugby. When somebody goes down injured (genuinely as they aren't a bunch of tarts) the game keeps going and if the scrum is near you then, tough shit! Bridge should get a yellow for his play acting, but Eboue has to get a red as well, because the rules are anything aimed at the head is a sending off and despite Bridge's over the top reaction its still a red card under the law. Spot on, unless its a very serious injury then the game still flows, thats in both codes. It will soon stop people going down to time waste etc! Exactly. Its a big pitch, you can easilly treat somebody whilst the game continues and 9 times out of 10 its barely an injury at all. If the game continued you'd find managers would never again have their players feigning injury and arseing about on the deck if they knew the game would go on. If you combine that with retrospective punishment for any faking on injury, play acting or overdoing it you could cut all this bollocks out of the game. And if people served their ban by havign to play a game or 2 of rugby union to find out what being hit by "proper" men and what real injuries are then we might be able to sort football out!

You're right, its ludicrous...Dylan wouldn't get past the first auditions of X-factor! Poor man's Journey South tbh. Not fit to be on the same stage as Darius Dinesh. A man of musical taste, knowing Darius' surname! Isn't it Danesh though?

Its almost shakespearean: "As he spied the secretary's glistening axe wound his cock stood to attention quicker than a Chelsea Pensioner at the Cenotaph."

There are certain things we agree on like election fraud in Florida and a general irritation about American foreign policy, where she has the upper hand as unlike us the Germans aren't in Iraq. But 9/11 is a no go area if we are out for a drink or summat..... Sounds like she's part of it Parky, working against you for "the man" from right under your nose, you'd better watch yourself!

The last time we scored more than the opposition, irrespective of who had the most possesion, or had the most shots, or any other bollocks people come out with. And the last time we deserved a defeat was today because Wigan scored more than us (the aim of football) and it would still be a deserved defeat even if we'd spent 90 mins camped in their half and had 20 shots against their 1 because your job is to take your chances and stop the other team taking theirs, not dominate possession etc. That's the whole point in football I agree. If we play shite football (as we do) and we create very little (as we are) Don't you think that our best players Martins, Owen etc Will want to be in a team that can maximise there ability? If you carry on just to scrap out performances morale among the classier players will go down. I agree with you, whilst the wins are deserved because we scored more, a string of under par performances means you will start to lose games (deservedly!) and that the better players will be pissed off! And i think we've put in plenty of shite to average performances this season under Roeder which is not acceptable. And Jonny, did you dare mention 3-5-2!!!

Fair enough we win games, but we never put out a convincing performance. Lucky against Villa, Spurs and Liverpool. We were shite against the Belgians. At the end of the day, it's purely about winning. I don't care what these people say about rather see us play win and draw/lose, that's utter bollocks. We're nowhere near as good as when we were when we were in the top 3, but I think with the right manager, these players could easily get us top 6 (when fit). Should be beating Wigan easily. The fault lies with the manager for the incredible decisions he's made this season. Correct! Theres a myth amongst some toon fans that every result we get is luck and that every other team seemingly deserve every one of their points. All teams win games when they've played shite, and lose games when they've played well, its the way football is. You take your chances and they don't, you deserve the win. And the players we have under a better manager are top 6 material as you say, not top 3-4 maybe but certainly looking at 4th and likely finishing 5th/6th. And its worrying that the more players Roeder has available, the worse his selctions seem to be!
-
Since its two teams i don't like i wish they'd gone and had a proper brawl though, really knocked seven shades of shit out of each other. They could pretend for 5 mins that they're not a bunch of arrogant, pampered soft as shit tarts and act as if they were real blokes who play other sports like rugby etc. and really go for it! Because the likes of Alan Green et al can whinge on about how disgusting it is, but really everyone wants to see it as long as its not your club involved!

I think Lampard deserves a bit of credit to be fair. With most players if they had a little arsehole like Fabregas garbbing them by the neck and pulling them all over they would have given him the kicking he deserves, Lampard did well not to swing an elbow and smash his face in IMO. It was funny though. I take your point about Lampard. Oh it was very funny!

He obviously got hit pretty hard then!

The ones sent off deserve losers medals so for me they can go and get them! You can always rely on arsenal to be classy in the face of defeat , Bobby summed them up ages ago when they lose and they've never changed!

I love the way "the atheists" are so quick to rubbish people's religious beliefs and then whine about the intolerance and hypocrisy of religion. All he said was people rubbish stuff like this yet hold up their religious beliefs as fact without the slightest shred of evidence, which is a fair point. You can go around rubbishing things like this (even though it's a load of bollocks!) and then in the same breath say what really happened is he came back from the dead and is the son of god as if one is nonsense and the other fact!
-
Haven't seen it yet, but as it stands i'd say fair play to the ref for once as he's had the balls to actually dish some cards out to the "big 4" clubs. SSN has Tim Sherwood criticising Fabregas, and not a shock as the guy is an arrogant, little prick who needs a kick up the arse to sort him out. Also as they showed footage after the match one of the presenters said "Arsene Wenger's moaning!" well that's pretty much a given as he does fuck all else!

I rather had put the Zog in the middle or put on for Sibierski. Milner should have started anyway with Solano playing at right back. I really can't understand Roeder why he is insisting on playing natural centre halves on the full back positions when he has someone who really did play well there. I'm getting fucking sick of it as well. Nobby has shown he's comfortably our best RB and helps out the other younger defenders so continually dropping him or moving him from there is moronic. And Millner, whilst still needing to sort out his final ball has done a respectable job wide right so there was no need to play Nobby there when he's needed at RB. It's all about accommodating the wrong players in the wrong positions. It's ridiculous. In any sport one of the most basic things that leads to success is the simple playing of the best players in their correct/favoured position unless you have no other choice. Our best back four includes Nobby at RB now, everyone bar Roeder can see that as clear as day. The most worrying thought is that as soon as Carr is fit (and by fit i of course don't actually mean fit!) Roeder will have him straight back in at RB as he has every single time he's returned from injury despite him being utter shite! ^ totally. It is extremely annoying and frustrating to have to watch it every single week. This is just a repeat of the Fulham (A) game. It is worrying. Everytime we win a home game, or get a result in europe etc. Roeder has an away match against poor opposition that is definitely winnable and he makes basic errors in team selection and we see a poor performance and defeat when we should easilly have picked up 3 points.
