1. Agree, its a bit of fun and something different which was entertaining. I'd suggest he doesn't keep doing it after the world cup as people will quickly tire of it and it will become annoying, but till then why not!
2. It's because people like the BNP use St Georges Cross and people have come to associate it with them and racism. Which I think is a shame as it is admitting defeat, and basically surrendering the flag to them. The most annoying part of this story is the bit in bold - these suggestions are always made by middle class white people, who think on the minorities' behalf. Which is patronising, and arguably (and indeed ironically) racist. 144634 Its embarassing, we must be the only country on the planet that has people saying you can't/shouldn't display the flag or show any pride in being your own nationality. And as you say more often than not its stupid white people who come up with this nonsense rather than the people who will supposedly be offended by it.
3. They could just change it to God save the Queen...by the sex pistols!
4. God save the queen has always been a dull, dire pile of shite which is the oppositte of what an "anthem" should be. Land of hope and glory is far better for the purpose and is used when England compete in the commonwealth games so it should be used for all sports.
5. I don't think you can completely and utterly rule it out. They'd certainly think of asking him, and they wouldn't be scared to offer him a shitload of money in wages, so it would come down to Sven's ambition and what other jobs he's offered. If he gets a job offer from other big clubs in europe then they haven't got a chance but they may well have a go.
6. Very charitable of him! Though as the studio lot have said, it makes good sense as we cannot risk an injury to Robinson and face the nightmare prospect of James at the world cup!!!
7. Sad but true. What Robert did was spectacular and was the sort of instinctive moment of skill that if it was Henry would have had a MOTD programme devoted to it and they'd never have shut up. Look at the fuss when Henry scores a very simple tap goal with the outside of his foot, quick thinking yes, but special, not in the slightest. Had Robert scored that one it wouldn't have warranted a mention. But i don't blame Henry for any of this, he's a great player who does indeed score great goals and probably is embarassed by the media jizz fests over his every move.
8. Jamaica may be poor but all you can do is play good fast passing football and create and score goals which England have done well. Owen getting one is good news and Crouch has been effective with him. But typical of England's luck we now have injury doubts over 3 of our first choice back 4, our captain and set piece taker and both Owen who is coming back from one and Rooney who may or may not come back from one!
9. To be fair to Arsenal, Dein was elected by the other premiership clubs as their representative. 143962 And replaced by Gill from Manu so now Fergie will be happy and Wenger pissed off!!!
10. I don't watch much of it at all, but that sounds like whats happened. In their desperation to get a load of nutters and wankers in there to cause tension and get arguments and action they have ended up with too many people who are just complete tossers!
11. Its always been an absolute disgrace that a prem chairman has a position of power in that country's football association. And lets be honest it would never have been allowed to happen and certainly not to continue unless he happened to be on the board of Arse/manu etc. Had he been chairman of some midtable team he'd not be allowed to do it.
12. Might give Bitspirit a try, think i've heard a couple of other people reccomend it to me a while back. What limit is it i'd need to set to 80? 143488 Right, here we go. Assuming you've installed Bitspirit in this location: C:\Program Files\BitSpirit Go into there, and double click BetterSP2.exe and change the limit to 80 and hit the apply button. After you do that make sure you restart your computer. Right now let's tweak the program abit eh? If you need to port forward... make sure you go to options and then preferences in Bitspirit...then network options, now you see where it says default port for TCP listening? change that to ermm say 24187 now remember this. When you port forward make sure this is the port you type down and make sure you forward it to your IP adress not someone else on the network. Last thing... If you have a pretty shite connection like 1MB or what ever, and you can't be arsed with people downloading stuff off you just simply go to options > preferences> job options Now change the upload speed to 1 and the download speed to 99999999 That's it pretty much. Also the best torrent sites are: Torrentspy Mininova Newnova Isohunt Let me know if you need help with anything else. 143583 Cheers, thats great. I'll get that up and running soon. See you use alot of the torrent sites i do.
13. He's been an amazing goal scorer year in and year out against the best italian defences and in the champions league. Playing for Chlesea against some of the defences here the bloke is going to score an absolute shitload.

15. The film battle royale has the answer. Instead of school kids put all the worst criminal vermin on and island with weapons and the final sole survivor gets his freedom. Though of course the funny bit is he doesn't, he gets excecuted!
16. Yeah i've had a look at tha and the details on my street and house were much clearer close up.

Creecket!

Could still depend on the weather and England holding their catches second time they attempt to bowl them out! 141766 Want a bet? 141770 I fancy them to win this one tbh, as long as the weather gives them a fair shot at it! That spell of dropping last test was as bad as we've had in a long time and not the norm to be fair!

19. First of all I stopped reading completely for several years once I went to college and when I went back not much fantasy fell in front of me. The last fantasy I read was the first of the Philip Pullman trilogy, beautiful world he created, shocking writer, he may have got confused between writing through the eyes of a child and writing like a child, or maybe his daughter wrote it? I think years ago he would have been told that he had a solid story but to work on his writing, now the publishing houses see movie deals. I remember reading the about the arduous journey of Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance getting published - ten years or something like that - well worth the extra time, I would guess. I'm sure I've read other fantasy in recent years - I just can't think of any off hand, terrible memory. Actually, you might be able to tell me, Iain Banks Sci Fi/Fantasy stuff, worth a go? Keeping in mind my tastes. 141762 I've never read any Iain Banks myself, is he the one who writes under a different name for his sci-fi stuff to his normal books? For fantasy the two authors to read are George RR Martin and Terry Goodkind as fantasy lovers think they're amazing but people who are indifferent to or even dislike fantasy have read them and ended up loving them.
20. I have no prejudice against fantasy, and yet I don't like the movies. They were, from what I saw and remember, fairly faithful adaptations, technically impressive and nowhere near as badly put together as Star Wars. But it was an empty 3 hour sleigh-ride x3. When I was young I read Lord of the Rings, felt it was a bit childish at the time, and went on to read fantasy for 10 more years. In fact, Lord of the Rings has got huge plaudits, so who are you talking about? 141749 It has got huge plaudits, which i'm glad about. I'm not talking about anyone in specific, just some people you talk to, or the odd critic here and there, who's criticisms were based solely on the fact it was fantasy and not on more constructive areas to debate. You'd get some people who refused to watch them becasue they were fantasy, yet felt quite able to still slag them off as being shite! Theres nothing wrong with people like you disliking them because you happen to dislike them and not due to some sobbery or predjudice. Btw what did you do after the 10 more years of reading fantasy, theres plenty out there worth reading, if you're not a literary snob
21. As with many players he was being handicapped by fuckwitt souness and his depressing, awful tactics and style of football. Numerous times Parker would get the ball, look left, see nothing, look right, see nothing and so on because we had no width, no attack and were playing with a team devoid of motivation and morale. He was often right to keep it as he had no option and would be throwin possesion away. So this season we should see whether he can use the ball more quickly or whether he does have a tendency towards keeping it longer than is required. 141740 Perhaps that is the case. I truly hope it is. I think I said the other day that I think Parker has the ability to adapt and play a little more quickly. 141742 Yeah, one thing we have lacked for a while now is pace. Not just fast players but also a fast style of football, moving the ball quickly, especially on the counter attack.

23. Alex, whats your top 10, i have to know!!!
24. Spot on. I see there are 2 Star Wars movies in the top 10, obviously far worse than anything Jackson ever did - and they weren't voted in there by kids either - explain that Nicos! 141726 Explain why 2 all time classic films get into the top 10? Just because films are aimed at kids, doesn't preclude them from being any good. Entirely apart from the technical achievement of those Star Wars films, they're just a whole lot of fun. Do you like ANY fun, action, sci-fi or fantasy type PG films? 141733 There are an absolute load of people who grew up with the star wars films and who love them to this day and continue to love them as adults, ensuring that they will always be high up in any such lists. The fact that they are and always have been amazing kids films, but merely good adult films that are very enetrtaining but contain some very poor scripting/dialogue etc. doesn't matter to some people. The LOTR films are great films fullstop, but being fantasy preculdes them in some peoples eyes from ever being given the credit they eserve because some people can never accept fantasy whether it be flms, books, tv or whatever.
