At least if you say Paki, you're referring to someone from Pakistan. Asian is just putting everyone in the same basket, when there are so many diversities in that part of the world. I used to get in fights all the time at school until year 9, people calling me paki etc etc, now personally I don't find it offensive at all because the people that say it obviously haven't got a clue what they are talking about because I am not from Pakistan.
