  1. Thats the thing, the Ultras have the right idea but the implementation is all wrong, there needs to be some older heads in there and some new material. Back in my day "Your Support is fucking shit" was never sung, not even to Wimbledon who brought about 100 or so up, back then we abused that fact by singing songs about mini buses and shouting "Taxi". All a bit more comical than simply informing them how poor their attendance/ singing is. More importantly though we only did that when there was a reason, every single game, no matter how many away fans turn up or how loudly they sing, we still hear it sung. To be fair to them I don't even think it's the Ultras, the few I can pick out as members of TU seem to try and inject a bit of variety by singing the old choons. It's the floating fans who turn up every other month or so who don't have a braincell between them that indulge in the cringeworthy, Soccer AM approved 'banter'.
  2. What a way to hit the 10k mark Obviously I'm a young'un compared to you old twats so I wasn't about during the halcyon days of the 70s/80s/early 90s but your description of modern football is spot on. It's sterile. Level 7 does manage to generate an atmosphere of sorts but it's nothing particularly amazing - it's a bunch of charvas singing Geordie Bootboys and Your Support is Fucking Shit x infinity.
  3. Sounds like Smudger was on the warpath that day. Trying to strangle Beye and telling Martins not to answer. Legend. I must have blanked it out because when I was watching the Ashley documentary I got the shock of my life when his greasy mullet appeared on the screen
  4. There must be something in the water. I get in from work and our kid says "I see Leon Best has signed. Is he quick?"
  5. I've heard a few people say he's shit and slightly more saying he was shit until this season when he's came into his own.

    Fuck the posh cunts.
  7. Aside from the cheap labour bits the hardest it got was when one of his ex-school mates called him fat
  8. It's on. Already had one of his school mates on saying he got fat and started charging them a quid each for some of his KFC bargain bucket
  9. It's more important for us that Forest and WBA don't get him than we do. If Wigan keep up their current form he'll be on sale again in the summer
  10. When the sale of him is going to stop crystal palace going bankrupt you can hardly blame them for protected him until he goes, dont think ashley will be willing to spend a few million to bring him here though. is he really that much better than beckford? From what I've seen of him (admittedly not much) he's a better all round player. I think you've also got to take into account that with Moses you'll be paying for oodles of potential, with Beckford you're paying for the finished article. And the finished article is not particularly good. He's good at League One level but you can't possibly say whether he'll be good enough any higher.

  12. He managed to broker amazing deals for everyone but us so it wouldn't surprise me.
  13. Not being able to pay your hosting company doesn't mean the domain is available (you can have the second without having the first). As you can see here, Portsmouth own the domain until 2011. It might be worth offering them a cheeky bid, mind. Edit: And as ewerk says, the website still seems to be working. Fucking hell. I wasn't being deadly serious
  14. Apparently so. We put a bid in on Wednesday night, it was rejected and we spoke to them again last night.
  15. I hope Chopra leathered the twat.
  16. Hughton spoke very well of him in this mornings presser so I'd be surprised if we didn't go back with an improved bid. It's also nice to hear that he'd prefer a first team start to a being a reserve at a huge club.

  18. I've heard that, but it was the Leyton Orient game and not last season. I quite like the fact Smith cared so much he nearly killed some cunt Saying that the same could be said of any tackle he makes.

  20. I he keeps picking the strong characters in their preferred positions (Smith, Nolan, etc.) to the detriment of the younger players like Guthrie. That doesn't bode well for next season when it's inevitable that we'll have to sign some 'egos' if we're to have much hope of avoiding relegation. I think that's a symptom of Hughton bringing democracy to the dressing room. The players have as much say as he does and while they may not pick the team I think they have Hughton's ear. I know it's won them over and helped morale over the summer but I want a despot as a manager, especially in the top flight.
  21. He deserves a modicum of credit for getting on with things without really knowing what the future of the club is. He's made quite a few mistakes regarding team selection but I don't think he's completely clueless. At the end of the day I'm not convinced he'll ever be a top flight manager and if I had my way I wouldn't risk finding out if we go up next season.

    Level 7

Agree completely. And it's not Geordie fucking Boot Boys, which is a winner in my book.
