True. Thing is though their immigration policy actually makes sense when you listen to what they plan to do but it's a similar issue to drug use. Hysteria is more of a vote winner than common sense.

I'd have him. He's not the creative midfielder we're crying out for but he'd be good cover.

It's interesting in a "oooh, I wonder what will happen and what the fall out will be" way but you're spot on - it's depressing. Regardless of what happens the immediate future looks bleak. I live in a Labour stronghold, the Lib Dems are the only thing close to opposition and the party I find most agreeable so I've voted for them. It wont make a difference, we'll still be Labour come Friday morning. I don't envy your position though, if I lived in a Lab/Con marginal I'd vote red for the exact reasons you're going to.

Labour starting to lose the plot now IMO. Don't see how they've lost the plot at all from that article tbh. Sounds like he's a nutter. Aye, I mean the bloke's giving a speech. You can't just let some mackem flid mong on about his broadband. Brown made a pledge not that long ago that he wanted the entire country to have at least 2mb broadband in their homes. Anyway, what he's arguing about is besides the point - one of the biggest criticisms that came out from the Gillian Duffy incident is that people felt that Brown wasn't listening. Removing a 'heckler' who's hardly going to test his political mind that much isn't exactly helping to dispell that train of thought. Is he worried about fucking up again? If not, then why not speak? Didn't Cameron get a heckler 'removed' from a speech he was giving on a few days ago? No politician is going to go toe to toe with someone on a rant about how long it takes to twoc the latest Lady Gaga album.

Independent were Lib Dem last time round, so I don't see why that would change now. Interestingly, the Guardian have come out for the Lib Dems too, albeit with a tactical voting caveat (and they give Labour a decent kicking along the way): http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/20...moment-has-come They have Cameron nailed there - a supposedly liberal Conservative who blames liberalism for the problems with this country. The true 'liberal' Tory leader would have been David Davis who I think would have been a far better option for them when they had their election. The 'Blair-like PR' factor clouded their judgement IMO. The Tories are notorious for managing to dodge the right men. Portillo & Clarke in 2001 and Davis in 2005 would be much better options than IDS & CMD.

I think Llambias did say something like that a few weeks ago. -

Why? What if he has been told he won't have much to spend? Should he just throw his toys out of the pram and jack it in? Should he slag off the players in the press and demand he gets new ones? Pathetic attitude to have, good luck to Hughton next season if this is how quickly some are going to turn on him! I agree with that completely. I'd love us to have oodles of cash to hoy around and bring in an entirely new squad but realistically that was never ever going to happen. I mean for fucks sake, who honestly expected Ashley to suddenly open the cheque book? And why does Hughton's admission that he'll not be bringing in a load of new faces make him just as bad as Fat Ash and Disco Dekka? A few new faces, providing they are the right ones, will be enough given the utterly atrocious state of the bottom half of the Premier League. -

We could manage with four or five new faces. As long as we get a right back, centre back, centre mid and striker(s) I think we'll have a squad capable of finishing outside the bottom three. -

+1 +2 But then I thought Brown undersold a lot of what's going on under labour. He didn't quantify how many more police there are now and how much crime has dropped while the other two kept complaining about crime out of control. Or by how much immigration has been coming down (or even how the net profit from immigratioon is positive rather than negative) while Cameron suggested border police (WTF? More spending David?). He did mention it and it was one of his stronger moments IMO. Basically tore D-Cam's argument apart before he got a chance to get going. That said I watched the after debate poll of floating voters on ITV and Brown's rating fell drastically when talking about it. Basically the electorate don't like cold, hard facts. They like scare stories about the dark skinned boogey men. That's to be expected though I suppose, they were from Bolton.

That was a Clegg anecdote I think, although it did follow CMDs "They stole everything! EVERYTHING! And set fire to her sofa....." Daily Mail rant.

From someone who wouldn't vote for either Brown or Cameron I can't agree with that. Cameron didn't come across as well as was probably expected but he came across better than Brown who IMO is a very weak link at the front of the Labour Party. Almost as weak as IDS was for the Tories IYAM. Neither would I, but Cameron flapped like fuck for the first 60 minutes. He dealt in cringeworthy anecdotes and exceptionally empty yet typical Tory rhetoric for the vast majority of the debate and didn't look comfortable with the format at all. Okay, towards the end he found his stride but only managed to slip into his role as snake oil salesman. Brown on the other hand was surprisingly assured for someone who is known to be the worst speaker out of the three. He peppered his statements with facts and figures, managed to look fairly statesman like while scoring points of the Conservatives. He would've won more points if it wasn't for his sycophantic pestering of Clegg every other question. All I think was resolved tonight is why Call Me Dave has done a runner on the interview he was meant to be having with Paxman next week. I know Paxo is just a contrary fucker in interviews nowadays and if you outlast him you can come out of it on top but he'd have ran rings around Cameron.

It's clear as day the majority of them are fucking seething we haven't sank like a stone There seems to be total denial on their part that they could ever be a bit arrogant or big headed. I've met my fair share of obnoxious, totally out of touch Mackems so I honestly don't know where they get this idea they're dignified and even handed. It pains them to admit it but they're just the same as us. The forum is a great laugh though, it revolves around NUFC, our fans and everything that happens to us! I've seen threads about us reaching scary numbers of pages and the number of threads about us at times is unbelievable, yet they'll actually without any trace of sarcasm say we're obsessed with them! We'll give them a brief mention every now and then and an occasional thread like this based on laughing at stuff they're saying about us, but that's it. I love how posters on there just make up some story about what a mag did, or said or how some mags at work always say/do this and then all the little kids on there have a wankfest about how deluded, arrogant and thick we all are based on stuff the original poster made up! But it makes them happy and since they clearly don't care about their own club mutch, its nice that they have us there to give them something worth being intereseted in. And since they'll probably read this, just to let them know, we are bigger than them, always have been and always will be, even when we're a division below, and whats more deep down they know it! But that's obviously just me being a typical deluded, arrogant mag (their favourite catchphrase!) They do touch on comedy gold at times and I think even the majority of people on RTG know that most of said threads don't have much basis in reality. "My father in law is a Mag and he says they're going to win the World Cup! LOL! How deluded!" And as you say the number of threads about us is staggering. I can remember when we went out of the UEFA Cup to Marseille and the first half a dozen pages were nothing but threads taking the piss while almost every poster made Drogba as their avatar. I have never seen anything like that on here or on N-O. That said I don't think RTG is a good barometer of the opinions of match going Sunderland supporters. Nowadays it's made up of kids and middle aged blokes that spend their Saturdays sitting in their two up, two down in Hylton while watching Soccer Saturday so it's no surprise that we dominate their thoughts.

Ashley - E+ Llambias - U Hughton - B Team - B Best player - Honour shared between Enrique & Colo Surprise package - Andy Carroll for obvious reasons. Honourable mention to Wayne Routledge, who I didn't think much off when we signed him but he's been very good. Worst player - Nicky Butt. Random overhead kicks aside he's been pish. Too old, too slow. Past it. Overall - B-
