Allied. Not a story about the carpet shop although that might have been better. Really obvious plot, iffy acting (although I did like Marion Cotillard) and some of the worst looking sets I've seen in a long time. Pitt and Zemekis can do so much better (although in the case of Forrest Gump, Zemeckis can do so much worse too).

The difference in goal difference between us and the other teams this year is ridiculous. We were 8 better off than Forrest in third last time. We're more that 20 better off than anyone in the playoff positions this year.

The last article he did on us certainly seems to have merit but it's equally clearly that in the past he's either made up shit or just repeated any old bollocks he's been told without making any attempt to confirm the truth. Either way, until we get promoted and Ashley splashes the cash we are going to hear stories like this. And I can't see any chance of Ashley confirming a 'war chest' before promotion is sealed, or Rafa confirming he'll stay until he sees the money. So I expect to hear more like this. Fwiw I don't see there being much mileage in this particular rumour as I don't really see Arsenal wanting him. I don't see Rafa being classed as one of the very top echelon of managers these days to the biggest clubs (rightly or wrongly). I think they would look to someone at a more successful club than us and probably look for a younger man. I also don't see them looking at the style of football Rafa plays and thinking that it's something their supporters will be happy with. I know with better players he could produce a more attractive style and I also think their fans will be more inclined to think that they should play a more practical style than what Wenger goes with, but I still think they won't be keen.

From the footage I saw of their first goal, it looked like a clear foul to me. I certainly don't think Lascelles covered himself in any glory but Jerome seemed to come straight through the back of him. It seems like we were a bit unlucky not to win it. I'm sure they can say they battled hard and deserved the draw and there's probably some merit in that, but it seems that we had most of the play and a created quite a bit (which is a definite positive for me). I've got time for Mitro but you'd think if Gayle had played from the start he'd have scored. I'm sure he'll start on Monday providing he has no reaction before then. Sounds like Perez played well which is nice to hear. We've seen precious few good performances from him in the last 18 months.

I'm surprised he waited so long. Could have been a lot nearer 100 if he'd done it sooner.

That blatant plot hole didn't spoil my enjoyment of it.

I really like Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs but he's really gone downhill since then. I didn't mind the Lady In The Water, The Village or The Happening despite their massive flaws. But the drop off from the three before was huge.

Root confirmed as captain. No surprise.

Split. I'm in two minds about it. Good performance by McEvoy and a nice little bit at the end but I didn't really get into it.

I think what Strauss said about Root's lack of captaincy experience is bang on. England players are going to get hardly any opportunity to captain teams these days as they're always with England. Root has been backing up Cook in test matches for a while now so you have to think they've been preparing him for this moment. I can't see why they're even interviewing the other two unless it's just to have them as vice captains.

The twilight films make the fast and furious films and tower heist look like art house films by comparison.

I got forced into going to see a couple more of them with the ex too. The next two, while still shite, were a lot better than the first. But then the first part of the two part ending was one of the most embarrassing bits of cinema I've ever been forced to endure. No amounts of promised sex could persuade me to go and see the final one with her.

If you haven't watched Twilight make sure you don't. I watched the first one not knowing really what it was and thinking it was just a vampire film. Fucking horrendous.

Didn't he cover it on one of the T20 games in Bangladesh or somewhere? I'm sure he did quite well.

Yeah I have no doubt about that. I just think Stokes could provide quite a bit of humour.

Stokes would be an interesting choice.

Absolute genius

I knew nothing about it but it definitely seemed a very different beast to the rest of the marvel tv shows (and films). Looking forward to see if it can keep it up.

Legion seems promising

It is ridiculous but once you've heard your father repeat himself for the tenth time this season, the rule is a much more minor annoyance. Fuck knows what the people who sit around us think about him. I mean I'm related so I have to be more patient with him.

The reason Abeid never made it was he wasn't ever anything other than average at best. He had a couple of decent games (when the team played well) after a long time of doing nothing whatsoever and people all of a sudden started rating him. After that he went back to being poor. He's not a patch on Colback. There was no mystery about him he's just not a player who's good enough to play at even our current level. Bigi is different as he played a fair few games when he first arrived and looked like he had everything to be a Tiote who could actually use the ball. His drop off is a lot more surprising.

That confidence would make their relegation all the more entertaining if it finally happens.

Keepers being allowed to take the ball from one side of the box to the other when taking a goal kick. The rule was brought in with the intention of speeding up the game but it all it does is aid a team in time wasting. They should just have to take it from the side the ball ends up at. It's an easy rule change that could speed things up. The reason this pisses me off isn't actually the time wasting though. It's the fact that at about 90% of matches that I've been to in the years since they changed this rule, my dad has complained about it. I've heard the same thing from him hundreds of times and it's getting right on my tits.
