  1. I think the fact that my dad likes BBT suggests it's totally shit tbh. Although he might like it for the same reason as me.
  2. Bernadette does nothing for me at all. I mean I've done a lot worse so I wouldn't say no but Kaley Cuoco us fucking gorgeous.
  3. I've got nothing against Affleck at all tbh. I really like a lot of films he's in (Good Will Hunting, Dogma, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dazed & Confused, The Town) but he's nothing special. I feel the same as you about Cavill and Jeese Eisenberg is good in Zombieland and Adventureland but really is just the same in everything. But the last Batman films had Freeman, Caine, Hardy, Ledger, Neeson, Cotliard, Hathaway, Oldman, Gordon Levitt & Bale all of whom are actors I genuinely like to see. And were directed by Nolan who's a director who's films I will look out for (even if Interstellar was a bit of a miss step). I like Watchmen but Snyder hasn't impressed with anything else.
  4. I'll watch it sometimes. It works in a sort of Friends or Everybody Loves Raymond way. It's very very average but it's on constantly so it has familarity going for it. That and Penny who I'd love to do all kinds of depraved things to.
  5. Half way through season 2 of Catastrophe now. It's pretty good with the scottish bloke being the standout.
  6. It's a largely average cast directed by someone without any great pedigree. I don't have particularly high hopes.
  7. Watched Ant Man the other day. It was reasonably fun. I also watched Black Mass which was decent but didn't really rank up with the best crime films that it aspired to be like (including the one that it helped inspire).
  8. It's not a case of selling ourselves though if we don't even try and sign these players in the first place. We could do that too but we aren't that because all we want to do is sign cheap imports who can be sold on for a profit. You'll generally find that promoted clubs try and sign cheap foreign players because that's all that they can afford. But even those clubs try and sign players who they think are what they need to move their team forward. With us it's not a consideration.
  9. Where do Everton come in the list of the worlds richest clubs? Outside the top 20 certainly yet they have been able to buy Lukaku, Barry, Cleverly, McCarthy, Lennon & Cone in the past few seasons. It's not that we are incapable of signing players with premiership experience, we don't want to because we won't be able to sell them on for a profit which is the only target of our recruitment process. Even that is flawed though because you can't keep expecting to stay in the league making such signings and if you do shit the players values inevitably drop. As we've seen in the recent sales of Mbiwa, Santon, Cabella (has he been formally sold yet?) etc.
  10. I don't really think it matters who our manager is at this stage. We all know the type of appointment that will be made if and when McClaren is sacked. We might strech to someone like Moyes but whereas he might be a success with other clubs he woudl't be here now. The club is being left to rot with policies that Ashley has put in place. The players who aren't just either hopeless or gutless from the start, can see the lack of interest and soon fall into that pattern themselves. There's only so much you can get out of a workforce with so little motivation. It would take a massive uturn from Ashley to convince anyone that he's serious about making anything of the club but the fact is, he isn't interested at all. You can only succeed at doing the bare minimum for so long then it bites you in the arse and I fancy that's what will happen to us this season.
  11. Totally agree with that. I almost have an element of sympathy with the players. It must be hard to motivate yourself when your employer gives you no cause to do. But then I remember they get paid a fortune for something a lot of us pay money every week to do ourselves and I think fuck you, you horrible cunts!
  12. With the feckless cunts we have playing for us I'm not sure anything will work. I do take your point though. The bollocking should have come well before McClaren arrived though.
  13. At least McClaren has shown already in his time here, a willingness to try different things. You fine well that under Pardew nothing would have changed at all.
  14. They really shouldn't have needed to get to that stage though should they. We've in and around the bottom three for 12 months now. If they haven't worked it out themselves they shouldn't be allowed to leave the house without being acompanied by a responsible adult!
  15. I'd probably just let me gran get me the wine tbh.
  16. So what's new? Sissoko does the square root of fuck all to help Janmaat out defensively (or attacking most of the time) and our left is unchanged other than having that Gateshead standard fuckwit Dummeet playing. I like Haydns idea of getting shot of the utter dross that we've seen week in week out prove they don't give a fuck (Sissoko, Colo) or are utterly incapable of performing at this level (Dummett).
  17. I'd be tempted to give SDJ a game behind Mitrovic and move Perez wider. I know it's not ideal for Perez but I've seen him do a good job there a number of times (he was excellent against Manure) and can't be worse than the shite that Sissoko serves up on a regular basis. There's definitely a bad culture of trying to get by doing just enough with too many of the players at the club. I think it's harsh to try and blame McClaren for the way they go on. But I suppose when the players see the club bringing in a manager who's just been sacked from Derby they must see that Ashley is trying to get by doing just enough to keep us up so why should they bother to do more!
  18. You're right. But he's not been associated with Ashley since (publicly at least) so he gets almost looked upon as if he saw what was coming with Ashley here and didn't want to be associated with it.
  19. I'm more likely to give Catastrophe a go than the Mindy Project it has to be said!
  20. I've realised recently that I own very little and since any film/tv I want to watch is available to download/stream, I don't even bother with DVD's/Blu-Ray any more. So some nice bottles of red wine and a few grams will probably do me nicely!
  21. Watched the first episode of that last night and so far it doesn't seem much more than the standard what if. It wasn't bad though so I'll definitely stick with it. The trailers for that Catastrophe didn't make it look very inspiring so I've not bothered with it but maybe I should give it a go.
  22. Aarons was fit at the start of the season. He came on as sub a few time and in preseason he'd looked sharper than anyone since he'd started his preseason earlier than everyone else. Thauvin had a couple of awful games (apparently, I missed them myself) after a bright start (he did well agains, Manure, Northampton and Arsenal) and has barely had a chance since. I wouldn't say he had a good game when he came on against Leicester but personally I thought he at least looked like he was trying to get at them which is a damn sight better than what Sissoko has managed in pretty much every game other than Norwich. The point for me is that we know Sissoko doesn't bother himself in all but a few games a season so why should we just allow him to sleepwalk through the rest of them. He has to be shown that if he doesn't put it in he will be dropped regardless of who is available to replace him. Because most of the time me or you could go out and do just as much as he does.
  23. Courtney Barnett is my favourite of those (possibly of the year) but I've just listened to that Ezra Furman album and I like that a lot on first listen. His voice reminds of o Destroyer and Brakes. Didn't think much of the Kendrick Lamaar album but then again I didn't really like his last one either.
  24. To an extent you're right but I would given Aarons a go earlier in the season and Thauvin laterly. Obviously Tiote and Colback being injured at the moment makes it very difficult to drop him at the now.
  25. He'd be the first person I got rid of from the team. His attitude is fucking awful which makes 90% of his performances the same. How he gets away with putting in three good performances a season is beyond me.
