You would think we should do. Surely it makes sense to give the players you are wanting to play together the chance to get some familarity with each other.

The fact that he wasn't even on the bench at the weekend doesn't look good. Have they said whether he will play against Huddersfield? Riviere has been here pretty much all of preseason and played quite a bit so I'd be pretty surprised if he wasn't played.

The only way it becomes a problem is if Pardew thinks he's good enough and doesn't persue a new signing because of this. I think this is a highly unlikely scenario mind you so I'm not concerned about that. I still don't want to see him in a matchday squad because I'm certain he's fucking hopeless. Fair play to him for putting the effort into trying to work his way back into the squad mind you.

Well we're going to need to play Janmaat as we don't have another rightback (what's happenning with Raylor?) and we don't have an old guard striker (not fit at least) so either Riviere or Chucky will have to play. SDJ has been at the club for a while now and I get the impression that Pardew sees him as vital to how he wants us to play so I'd be very surprised if he doesn't play (fitness allowing). He's also got an excellent record against Citeh from his Ajax days so I would imagine he will be desperate to play. Colback and Cabella could miss out and I'd be surprised to see Perez get anything better than bench time this early.

The new planet of the apes film. Looked very good but I found it a bit boring and very obvious. Guardians of the galaxy. Fun film. I'm sure if I'd seen it when I was a kid it would be one of my favourite films. Only god forgives. I'm sure they could have made a good film with this but Ryan Gosling (who I do actually quite like) standing silently for most of it does not achieve this. Wake in fright. Mental film about a teacher in some remote Australian village who heads to Sydney for Christmas but looses all his money in some mental town and gets dragged on bender with some locals. Really good.

You would have to say that in Cabaye, Debuchy, Remy and Ben Arfa (on his game), you have better players than those we've brought in. But in Tavernier, Perch, Gosling, Simpson, Shola, Marveaux & LDJ you had players who weren't up to the premier league. Whether or not the players coming in prove capable remains to be seen. It's also not really fair including Mbabu and Aarons as new signings since they were both just signings for the youth set up. If you're going to include them you might as well include the youth players who have been release also.

From reading that forum it seems that Darlow is their first choice keeper but they wouldn't have Lascelles in their first 11 despite believing he's worth £6m-£8m (seems a lot for a non first choice championship player). None of them seem to be happy about selling Lascelle which is good news for us I suppose. Talk of £7m for the pair of them. Seems a lot to spend on two players we won't see for at least a year when we are clearly short of quality in the centre of defence. Could also be seen as a positive move in that we're actually looking to build for the future.

No he was ok. Does having an ok game in a friendly when no one is going full pace suddenly change the fact that he has been dreadful for the past two seasons with us and for the time he was with Manure? If he could consistently put in performances like he did yesterday in competitive games he would be a useful member of the squad. Given his history this seems very unlikely to say the least. Personally I wouldn't take the risk of giving him a game in a competitive game. I'd much rather go with players who haven't looked as bad as him when given the chances or even young players who as yet haven't been given the chance.

He's not hit and miss though is he? He's just shite. He's shown time and time again that he has no heart at all. Anyone can give us the type of wing play he offers (ie fucking awfull).

I can't believe that anyone is hoping for anything from obertan after this. He's clearly not a footballer in any sense of the word. The only thing we can hope for after that is that there's someone else out there nearly as stupid as pardew who will pay money for the useless cunt. On a positive Aarons looked very promising and there was more goals from our new signings. Actually we played pretty well.

It's not though really is it? I want us to sign a proven scorer as much as you but saying signing three players and saying it's virtually the same as signing no one is complete bollocks. Of course there's a risk they won't cut it but it's a lot less of a risk than signing no one at all.

Williamson improved compared to previous seasons but he was never more than ordinary at his best. I think he started sliding back down to shite by the end of the season. Like Howay, I have no real problem with him as backup but he should never be a starter.

Colo seems to be on the decline. MYM can't play with him. Taylor and Williamson are fucking awfull. I'd say our centreback options are pretty poor. Of course if we have a team that can actually attack and keep the ball away from the defence that should make a big difference.

I notice he scored 6 in 13 league games for Shaktar last season. The rest of his games were in the champions league in which they struggled if I remember rightly so I suppose he'd understadably struggle to score in those.

I'm all for adding more striking options to the squad given how few we had last season. We need someone that we can be confident will score in the premier league though. That said, the reports are suggesting that this signing would be in addition to a main striker so I can't complain at that.
