  1. Aye that's the one bit where he's talking bollocks. I think every set of supporters love to see one of their own make it and as such Shearer, Pedro & Gazza are loved. But they're all top class players (arguably world class). But look at Sir Les, Tino, Albert, Nobby, Bobby Lee etc as players who have came from other places and are loved here.
  2. I agree with what you're saying there but I don't think there is any myth about any fans being content. People say we would be happy with whatever but that only lasts so long. If the Heed had got promoted to the league how long do you think they would have been happy merely surviving in the bottom division? After a few years of it they'd want to be pushing up the table then looking for promotion and the cycle would begin again in League one and so on. It's usually the same for owners and boards too. But in our case Ashley's interests are only in seeing how much money he can get us making (and passing back to him via whatever means) and he doesn't think he can get any more from us based on our football performance so he's not willing to invest to grow. Only to avoid losing what income we currenly have.
  3. At first I read that as; I'm still not sure that it isn't what you meant!
  4. But the point is we're not whinging because aren't happy finishing tenth. The position would have been a respectable improvement on the previous season that most would have accepted. But it has been underminded by selling our best player and not making any realistic effort to replace him. And more importantly it's happened along with futher distancing the club from the fans and telling them that what they want (be it improvement in the league, cup runs, a new manager, signings, entertainment or whatever) is irrelevant to clubs management.
  5. Well fans of all teams want to try and improve whatever their position. That's the same in pretty much all life in general.
  6. I think the scene with the bones sets up the next scene you guys are talking about well. I've heard a few people complain about it because they think it's replacing what's supposed to come but I agree with Fish's take.
  7. I've no idea how to do a spoiler (I can't even get the bold to work on this computer tbh) so I'm trying to be as vague as possible there.
  8. Well I've already crumbled and had a look at his youtube reel. Looks very quick and sharp, scored a few belters, looks ready put himself into where he could get hurt if he has a chance of a goal, can finish with both feet and even scored a diving header (nowhere near enough of them in football these days). The defenders he was up against made ours like Milan with Baresi, Costacurta and Maldini though.
  9. Depends which of the big events you mean. Apparently episode 9 is all set at the wall. Episode 8 (not on for two weeks because of Memorial Day) looks like it has the trial by combat. Episode 10 should therefore have some bigger events than any of the previous season finale's.
  10. They showed the first two episodes of Luther on Aliby a couple of weeks ago and I was enjoying it. But it seems to have gone off now. I suppose I'll just have to download it.
  11. To be honest I can't really understand grown men buying any football shirts for anything other than playing football in. But giving anything more than you absolutely have to, to that fat cunt is lunacy!
  12. A potential signing like this would have excited me in years gone by. Now I first of all don't expect us to sign him. And secondly, if we were to sign him, I expect that he would be yet another player wasted by the clown who's in charge of the team!
  13. That Penny Dreadful starts tonight on Atlantic. Looks like it coudl be worth watching.
  14. He's been in it more than any other character! Mind you I'm more than happy to see any scene with him and Bronn or now him and Oberyn Martell as long as they last. I really enjoy the Arya and Hound scenes too but I think that most people watching it will be thinking how cool Arya is becoming rather than getting the sense of how sad it is that this little girl is becoming a murderer like you get from the books.
  15. I say anyone who buys a Newcastle shirt these days is a complete fucking idiot anyway.
  16. I think that it's good that they published it. I remember years ago reading an article in fourfourtwo or some other football mag about why people hated man utd. They also included a bit by Terry Christian about why people should love them. He basically said something along the lines of we're man utd, we're great so we deserve to win everything and be adored. None of the reasons put forward why people hate them summed up the main reason better than what that cock had written in their defence. It's the same with this article. We don't need to write anything explianing why people like Dick are morons, because he's done it himself better than any of us could!
  17. Aye the Bridge is class. I must get round to watching the second season.
  18. I was the same the last game (I'd gone by the time the last two went in but I assume I would have felt even less). If that continues next season, that will be the thing that finally makes me give it up.
  19. The last line sums it up perfectly. We really might as just change the name to Newcastle United limited because we really aren't a football club any more. Mind you, we're not united either!
  20. I had Rimmer in my head saying it but I couldn't remember which episode so I thought I was wrong. Thanks for putting me out of my misery on that score at least!
  21. You twat's. It's going to drive me mad trying to remember what that's off now. At least it takes my mind off the shite state our clubs in for a bit!
  22. I'm sure he DJ's in Cozy Joe's (Macey's for those of you in your 30's) in the Bigg Market too. Obviously I've been completely off me tit's by the time I've gone in there so I might be mistaken.
  23. I've always been a bit interested in Milan from the days of Baresi, Maldini etc and Real are good to watch but really I coudln't give much of a fuck how they're doing. There's only one team that matters and I'm worried that they matter less and less as each week goes by.
